I have made a list of <$10 domain name registrars, what are any of your opinions on them?Who do u use? and who do you think is best?
The list:
godaddy.com
gkg.net
powerpipe.com
namecheap.com

only two of the four are actual registrars:

gkg.net
godaddy.com

The other two are resellers. The term registrar should only apply to those companies that have been accredited by ICANN.

How to find out it's reseller or registars?

I personally use and like Stargate Inc (http://www.stargateinc.com). They have $10 domains, but they are only $8 if you buy 2 or more. Support is good too!

Stargatenic.com maybe another option. They are pretty cheap. 2 domain for $16 and their control pannel is easy to use to. You also get a free email,URL Forwarding with masking/cloaking and One page website.

I had some experience with golddady. They are great. But I think stargatenic has better package overall.

I've been using 000domains.com for over a year now, and have had no problems at all. They have fair pricing, their system is fast and accurate. I only have a few more domains to transfer over and I am done with Netsol and register! A day I look forward to!!!!

does stargateinc.com offers different service if you buy at $10 compare to their express service of $8 per domain?
Do you still have control over DNS and contact info?

Both $8 and $10 have the same feature, same control pannel. But you must purchase 2 or more to get $8/domain. The control pannel allows you to chang DNS,contact info, URL fowarding, renew DIY,name server..etc.

I would go with namecheap. I prefer it over stargateinc. Namecheap does have a peculiar requirement... when you modify the DNS, you have to enter the information in uppercase. If you don't, you will get an error message, but it doesn't tell you the reason.

I'm most pleased with namecheap.com follow by godaddy.com. My domain at powerpipe.com seem to have problems updating contact information via their registration system (even now).. never tried gkg.net.

I suppose they are, if you enjoy paying for services that other registrars offer for free.

I dont usually give props but it is always nice to support a WHT guy instead of godaddy. If you want the same quality as go daddy go with affordabledomain.net It is pretty mmmuch the same as godaddy, and it is a WHT user!:)

What features does godaddy offer at $8.95? Do they allow online DNS transfer? I am using 000domains.com but their price is $13. Since I have 100s of domain names it will make a big diff if I switch. Does godaddy offers same features ad 000domains? If it does I dont see why I should not switch over!

stargateinc.com offers 8 dollar transfers and I think they offer the service your looking for (online DNS transfer?). I know their registrar transfer process is on-line. Not sure about godaddy.com, though.
