View Full Version : moderators ?? why was my thread taken out ??
Aloha
why was my billing problem thread taken out ????
it had value to people as a problem arose that people should be aware of ???
or things that can happen ??
can you please tell me what forum that would have fit in ??
Get-Hosted.com 06-19-2001, 04:18 AM Good move moderators... that was an unneeded thread, and had no value except to possibly hurt a companies record for unvalid reasons.
Still don't understand why you took my thread to advertising forums about the new type of reselling... after that it got no more responses, and the move was unneeded.
Atleast this one was good.
what is unvalid about it ??
charging a credit card after an account is cancelled is not valid ???
XTStrike 06-19-2001, 04:23 AM I removed your thread
Honu, you agreed yourself that it was solved within 2 minutes of your posting.
I was about to PM you regarding its removal but since i have replied here that will now be un-necessary.

Because ... you should have contacted your host first and give them time to clear things up.
I don't see any value to your post ... at least not with a billing problem that can be easily cleared up within 5 minutes ... that's not considerd any problem whatsoever ... Next time, instead of posting here, post at weinbar own forum: forums.weinbar.com
cheers,
Aloha
OK no prob
sorry to offend any body then I guess some people got there twinkies steamed for no reason
I did mention it was taken care of and that it went a long way that he was cool
even if a problem is cleared up it was still a problem that happened that shouldn't have
I guess that is what I was trying to say ??
all problems will eventually work themselves out
well funny then that some companies can get bashed no body cares and some seem to get special treatment ?? this seems to be the case
I still say it was a valid reason
a month after a cancel and a charge apears is a valid problem
I would not have cancelled if there was not a service problem that made me cancel
if a company gets hurt so be it
the truth be told it got fixed
5 minutes later because I caught it right away
the fact is the account was canceled so the problem was there for 20 days waiting to happen if I had not caught it
XTStrike 06-19-2001, 04:40 AM As you may have seen WB certainly dont get special treatment on this board, they have had their ups and downs and none of the threads have been deleted.
This was an exception as it could have been solved via e-mail/WB forums or PM.
I can see how you feel, you must have been annoyed with them to have cancelled but nevertheless it was solved promptly and could safely be deleted.
Aloha
OK aceppted as it is a moderated forum
I understand your position ;)
XTStrike 06-19-2001, 04:59 AM Hi Honu,
I think its a little unfair to say the forum is "moderated" id say it is more "reviewed"
But I have taken your comments onboard, but as the rules of the forum say we are impartial, I along with all other moderators judge each post individually and without bias, from the replies of the thread you started there were many replies to it that stated you were a little unfair to WB, may I quote:

Sorry to offend what you believe in but it felt like the right move to make and still does.
Chicken 06-19-2001, 11:32 AM Hi Chad. Really, I can't say the forum isn't moderated without bias. That would imply that there are no 'grey' posts and that we don't have to make decisions. We do. We try to be as unbiased as possible, and that's just about the best I personally can offer.
The only posts that are actually *deleted* are:
Posts that the person erases and replaces with 'please delete'.
Posts that are double posts in the same thread.
All other posts are split from the thread and moved to thrown threads. All threads are moved to thrown threads. This is so we have a record of it but also so that if there is a question about it, the posts can be merged back into the thread, or the entire thread restored.
Now about the post, mistakes will happen, servers go down, bills get screwed up, etc. This is really the only thing a host can guarrantee :D
When they *do* happen though, the difference in hosts will be the ones who take care of the problem in a timely manner, and the ones who don't. Always try to resolve the situation with the host first, *then* if there is still a problem, post about it. It is fair to you and the host.
In order for this forum to be useful, people (and this isn't directed at you Chad) need to stop posting things like, "Blahhost is down!" -then 2 minutes later... "They are up again!" Yeah, i can already guess that they rebooted the server, we didn't need to know that. it doesn't tell me if the host is good, it just makes the host look bad, when really they aren't.
Anywhooo, I think you were a bit quick on the trigger there cowboy and thus it was moved. Hope you understand, but if not, please feel free to email us at moderators@webhostingtalk.com (though realize that *I'm* not checking that address for a couple of weeks, someone is though).
edude 06-19-2001, 11:56 AM Chicken your still on holidays???
