WARNING WARNING WARNING

OK, I Have a few reasons to steer clear

1) Shanje does not provide telephone based technical support.

2) There is NO fax or phone number anywhere to be seen

3) the address for the domain points to a PO BOX

These are but a few reasons, im sure people will muster up many more, but it doesnt look like the best place to type your CC Number.

imho

Well, are you saying that Site5 is even worse (since it does not even include PO Box)? ;) I don't know about Shanje (I am pretty sure he used to be around here too), but if you judge solely on this, than you will have to include Site5, which in my personal experience have not only been great, but honest as well ...

Indeed, i am always weary about buying things from people where i have no way of contacting them if the e-mail goes down.

put simply this person could shut down the mail servers and completely disappear from the face of the earth with the customers money.

If site5 does this then they stand in the same position with me.

his site is a complete replica of the old microsoft.com from around last month.
I would too stear away from a company with enough balls to use a huge corporations left overs. He probably used the same layout last month too. Does anyone know?

that's why ... always _pay with credit card_ ... you can always do chargeback .. this actually happened with me ... I orderd some computer parts, then had to return it because they were not as described on the web ... Upon checking later, the phone has been disconnected and I could not reach them (yet, my money has not been credited back) ... so, called my cc, did chargeback, and everything went well .... :)

is it me, or is chargeback the greatest thing ever to be implemented for credit cards?

he... it probably is, but for the customer though ... for the merchant, chargeback can actually be the most evil thing that has ever been implemented :)
