View Full Version : Cpanel/WHM and Anonymous FTP

Whenever I create a new account in WHM it creates the account with anonymous FTP turned on.

How can I change this default setup to OFF because we don't want to present our customers a 200 gig because pirates downloaded the latest Win XP from their Anonymous FTP account.
Sure he has to pay us but I don't think that is fair. It is a different story when they turn it on themselves because they get warned for that.

Thank you,
Domenico

Does nobody knows how to do this???

Any cpanel developers who read this?

So, I'm the only one having this problem.

Ok, I'm going to adress my host and the creators personally about this.

Strange that the makers of cpanel/WHM don't want to react on this...

Domenico, since WHM using ProFTPD - CMIIW - I think the point that you should ask how to set ProFTPD setting so they could turn off the anonymous FTP features.

Nope, it's all about creating an account through WHM without ftp access but you still can login and use WWW.

I think this is WHM not doing what it's suppose to do.

edit your proftpd.conf file like under limit login edit the one below it to Deny All.
