Im trying to start a small search website with domain registrations, ecommerce solutions. Im just starting out and cannot afford any mega expensive plans. I need the following:

VisualBasic cgi support
ASP support with file system objects
Unlimited pop3 email
Umetered bandwidth
25 mb or greater webspace
Unlimited subdomains
SSI if possible
A control panel if possible
And the ability to add a asp customer component.

Especially the unmetered bandwidth part - how much bandwidth do you need?

From what I understand, the whole ASP M$ thing costs MONEY and a host will not be able to provide that for only $22 a year, maybe $22 a month. Also, stay away from unmetered or unlimited bandwidth. It is a lie since a host can not provide that. There are usually restrictions in the TOS or AUP. Better raise your price and go for a certin amount of bandwidth and not unmetered.

And don't even think of Dellz.com

I would never trust host with unmeter or unlimited plan, especial when its only $22/yr

id agree, Unmetered is your first mistake in asking, but a common mistake nevertheless

also, the ASP you require, you will need either a Windows NT Server, which costs money and is always more expensive than *nix hosting way more than $22/pa

if you want a *nix server that supports ASP the server will need something like Chillisoft ASP installed, again, this costs money and a host will charge you for the privelage.

As suggested, try a free host as for what you request i dont "think" you will find a decent host, unless you are willing to allow the host to place advertisements on your site, and they ypicaly only do this for high traffic sites.

There is no one I know that will provide you with 25megs, unlimited POP3 accounts, 5 gigs, AND ASP for only 22 a year. You are looking at least 10.00 a month.

well im open to suggestions, just try to keep it under 100 dollars. AND if billing is monthly then KEWL!

The 4r I lease has Chilisoft ASP, but I've never tired to use it. Mainly due to the fact that I know nothing about ASP at all. If you need this, maybe a search for 'ASP linux' would get you some threads of both hosts who offer it and/or comments about it in general.

The server I was talking about above is leased at http://tera-byte.com but as for recommending NT hosts, I'm really not all that familiar with most of them. I'd also prefer to let the some of the 4,089 members shared their personal experiences and suggest things to you.

It may be better to lock this thread and for you to post a new thread titled, "Needed: NT host under $10/mo", with a first post describing anything out of the ordinary that you'd like as well as the basic requirements you are looking for (space, transfer). Even if there isn't something exactly like it, someone may be able to get you close. :)
