Hello,

My name is Vincent Paglione. I have been representing JTAN on this forum for a while now. I have some free time coming up, so I thought I would look here for some freelance work.

I cannot take full time or long term jobs (since I am with JTAN), but I would like to offer my services to anyone who is looking for a freelance programmer or server administrator.

I have plenty of experience with Perl, mySQL, Apache, proFTPD, Cobalts, Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions, and SuSE & RedHat Linux. Recent additions to my portfolio include: an automatic account setup system for Cobalt RaQ 3s; an advanced virtual host setup for proFTPD; a thumbnail image perl program; and a restricted bash environment.

Please feel free to contact me via e-mail at vince@jtan.com, or by ICQ at UIN 26358995. Thanks for your time. :)

Thanks for the link. I would like to post a small "list" of things that I can do:

Secure order forms with multiple pages, services, prices, etc.
Instant quote systems (custom configure computers, dedicated servers, account plans, etc).
Setup/configuration of Apache, proFTPD and MS FP2K extensions.
Installing and customizing already-made perl scripts (or even creating the script from scratch)
Perl scripts to setup various features on Linux systems

If you need any projects done soon, please feel free to e-mail me at vince@jtan.com and I'll be happy to provide you with a free quote. :) Thanks again.

[kidding]He... I can ... just disconnect the ethernet cable from the switch/router ... It will be totally secured from outsider :D [/end kidding]

Vincent, how "affordable" are you? I might be interested also ... depending on how much you know and how "affordable" you are :D

Fiber,

Well, I can install SSH and disable telnet. I can also replace your current FTP program with proFTPD. Other than that, what other types of security measures are you looking for? Checking to make sure all programs have proper ownership/permissions, etc?

err ... Vincent ... more than that ... scanning ports, installing ip-chains firewalls, checking for sniffer programs, trojans, upgrading kernel, installing the newest patches etc... etc ... :)

cheers,

I can do most of that, but I normally stay away from kernels and patches on remote machines. Who knows what can happen.

You can e-mail me at vince@jtan.com for a direct quote. :)

Sorry, but I prefer not to partake in those types of jobs. I feel it is just too risky unless you are at the terminal. :(

Not to belabor a point, but I know the "ins and outs" of ProFTPD and MS FP2K Extensions. If anyone needs any problems fixed or features added to them, I can do it. That is of course, on Unix, not Windows. :)

You mean how much would I charge to create one? It depends on how the orders should be handled really. The price wouldn't be too much for one page though. Please e-mail me at vince@jtan.com and we can discuss it further.
