For a host that services "1000's of domains" and people in "more than 80 countries", you should probably do this for your new customers. :cartman:

No offense to your company, but I think you should use a more secure method to process your orders. UmBillyCord pointed out that the page was not secure, so I checked the source to see if you were submitted to a secured location. It turns out you are actually using formmail to send the credit card numbers over plaintext e-mail. I didn't look too hard, but it did not look like you were using PGP.

I highly recommend you tighten the security. Your new customers would get quite annoyed if their credit card was stolen because it went unencrypted.

Other than that, looks like a good package. Good luck! :)

Sadly, it doesn't say how much bandwidth is allowed PER MONTH. Is it another conspiracy to dupe us all? :bomb:

What does this mean?
This CA Root certificate is not trusted because it is not in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store.
It popped up when i tried to go to their *now secure* order page. And how do they issue themselves a certificate? I thought it had to be issued by Verisign or some other co.

Oh, yeah... just look at the source code on the order form:

And from the "about us" page comes this interesting nugget:

Does that mean a robot is reading the FormMail results and creating the account? Or have they invented an automated system that parses the formmail input and creates a new account? Impressive! Especially given the form is sent to an email address:

Human element removed, indeed...

Lastly, again from the About Us page:
"We now allow a user to input their information and receive their account in less then ten minutes. Customers can now have their site up and running on the World Wide Web in a matter of minutes, and not have to wait for a human to process the order."
Yet the page that appears after you place your order (https://www.99centhost.com/thankyou.htm) says this:
"Please allow 6 to 24 hours for your payment information to be processed. We use an Address Verification System (AVS) for Fraud Protection. Please make sure that the phone number & address that you have entered is exactly as it appears on your credit card statement. Your account will be activated within 30 minutes as soon as your credit card information in verified. " So much for the 'setup within minutes' deal. But now it's too late, you've placed your order.

I see hundreds of things wrong. Like false statements they host 1000's of domains in over 80 countries.

I don't want to flame so I leave the numerous other things out. It is actually quite hilarious. I don't think these guys will come back to this forum, but who knows?

Wow.. Cool! does anyone know what "new technology" is this..

I also found them on another site where they gave thier adress as Pakistan. I do not think that there are a whole 1,000 what we would qualify as SERVERS in all of Pakistan.
