I have to find a host and the 2 sites that are using different hosts are definately spending too much. We are about to open a new website, making it 3 web addresses and I want a few more.
One site has a lot of links and the other only a few. The next one I have started to build with Front Page 2000 will be creative but I have no idea how much space will be necessary.

Total of 3 web addresses and wanting at least 3 more with enough space so that we can build.

What estimates of costs should we be looking at and what will we be needing for all of the sites that we will be using is our question?

Can any of the webmasters or wannabes suggest anything for us?

Thank you for your time and valuable experience.

http://www.cybrisk.com/reseller.cyb -- They have awesome packages. I would definately recommend the second pacakge for your needs. The 3rd package silver-rs is on special for 18.95/month (normally 21.95/month) which is way more then you would need now but is an awesome price.

The other website that I have came into contact that is quite good is www.dathorn.com and they definately have reasonable prices as well.

both websites allow for multiple domains and lots of room for expansion. You basicly have the same setup as what I have. 3 websites that need hosting right away and lots of room for expansion. I've decided to go with cybrisk.com and get the silver-rs package. more then I need for now but lots of room for exapnsion which I plan on doing. + Great email and live support from Matthew.

theres my 2 cents.

Linkup,

Based on your description it is a bit difficult to know exactly how much space you need. But it does sounds as though your sites aren't using to much, unless your running a massive file download or image site, etc. that you haven't told us about.

I would say that 400MB of space is going to be adequate, in fact, you'll probably have a ton for growth.

For a reseller account with atleast 400MB (upwards of 1-2 gigs, unlimited domains, 20-30gigs of traffic) you're going to be looking at about $20-$30 depending on what host you chose. Don't let price deceive you, go for quality.

It looks like Dathorn and cybrisk are good choices here without much risk since threads here at WHT have given them both good reviews. Cybrisk uses Linux vs. instead of windows, is there a drawback here?

Had originally looked at Addaction with their 6 month free special but they are using CPanel 5 where that seems to be outdated by the 6.2 that dathorn uses. It seems that they have upgraded in other areas and cybrisk is also talking about an upgrade to come.

I like the forums at dathorn and cybrisk has just started one. HTTPme has had forums longer and seems reputable but doesn't show where his higher costs are valued.

Some talk about paying for only what you use and others seem to have higher costs if you use more than allotment which seems to be a kick if you are not careful.

Although Addaction could give us free ($9.95 set-up) space for 6 months and costs of only $6.95 per month, it doesn't offer reseller there as I can easily see. Not that I am going to resell at this time but once we set up in the next couple of weeks who knows and we don't need to be jumping ship every month or two.

What are the real benefits of these and others that we don't yet understand here? Thank you again for all that you guys do!

One good way to figure out how much disk space you need is to look at how much disk space you use on your hard drive, then double the figure. This will give you room to grow so that you won't have to upgrade your hosting plan within a month.

To do this, if you're on a Windows machine, just open Windows Explorer, select all the files you use, and look down in the lower bar of the Explorer window. That will tell you how much disk space those selected files take up.

Depending on how fast your site grows, you may need to upgrade - but if most of your content is textual (rather than pictures or sound files) you'll use web space a bit more slowly.

Hi,

For those interested, Addaction always has the latest stable Cpanel version on all our servers.
