I know there are lots of non-profit orginazations on the net that get free hosting.I would like to know a bit how this works as I am writing a freeware message board script, and assumed I would just have to pay the bills my self. How do these non-profit orginazations get these free hosts,do the hosts come to them,or does the orginazation go looking got someone to host them for free?

Agree, and that is probably the best option. Otherwise, you get a sponsor. They won't come to you if they don't know about you, so you'll have to post something in the advertising forum asking for help.

If you distribute it open source SourceForge will host your site. If not open source, then probably not.
