Has anybody here gone ahead and designed their own CPANEL type software? I am almost finished mine, ok sure, its not as advanced as CPANEL, but its totally customised to my needs. I've also added CPANEL integration for users that still want to use it.
I found that CPANEL is just way to complex for my average user, they always end up messing something up and then it takes me ages to fix their mistakes.
I also needed to integrate the CMS that I designed for them to update their sites.
I am not dealing with any hardcore members yet, most just want to update their sites, check mail, stats etc. I have added the option on the backend to limit access to certain parts of my PANEL, meaning hardcore users dont need to access to site mod tool etc.
I am intersted in other users's implimentations.
BTW, this is done in php with a mysql backend. Ive used it as a learning experience to learn php over the last 3 weeks.
