In WHM I created and account X with username Y
Then I deleted it and created the same again but I get an error saying username Y allready exists.

how can I fix this?

check apache http conf file, i had same problem and it was bcause it had not deleted the virtualhost entry.

yes do like carpman said, and do not forget to refresh apache.
