Sorry- I'm an idiot when it comes to cpanel, or for that matter, anything technical. ;)

I do have a few questions though, and would really appreciate some advise.

Here goes:
Can cpanel support free web hosting?
How do preinstalled scripts work? I see hosting companies offering pre-installed scripts- is this something a control panel will do?
Are there add ons for cpanel?

Cpanel includes lots of pre installed scripts, it will support any kind of hosting you want. All it does it allow you to create the account what you charge for it is up to you.

It comes with quite a few links that you can just follow and it will install scripts for you on the relevant site.

There's an addon for cpanel called fantastico that will gives you extra options for installing more scripts in addition to the ones that cpanel give you.
