I want to register a domain name for a new project.
The domain name I have selected is similar to another domain name already in the similar business. [though geographically the markets may never overlap] But theirs is a generic name and mine selection has that generic name as part of the domain.
For example : trade.com [ an existing name in trading business]
My selection example : tradetex.com [for a similar business activity in a different country]
from what i can understand trade is a generic name and hence i am wondering if it can be copyrighted.....whereas mine is more of a brandname
where do i stand legally in this example case of domain dispute ?
can they sue me for violation and take my domain ?
