Hi,

Is anyone currently using them as a paid advertiser? I know you can sign up for a free account, but I was curious if anyone out there is paying them for placement and if you've had any return on your investment and whether you find it to be 'worth' the investment...

I haven't used them but what you need to do to find out if they are worth the investment is create a spreadsheet for your self. Typically advertising sees a %1 - %2 return rate for your money. With a pay-per-click service you might get about %5 because it is highly targeted to the hosting industry. Some of the bids are as high as $1.90/click, unless your plans are somewhere in the $5/month and above range you might not be able to leverage the cost. If at all possible you want to be in the top three.

With ppc it's all about ROI. If bids are reaching the $3 mark chances are that they do receive quite a bit of traffic.

The best part about PPC is there is little or no risk involved. All or most of your clicks will be from people who genuinely are looking for hosting or they would never have signed up. There is no contract, you put in how much money you want to spend. You could go through $50 in a day but did the sales in that day cover the $50 and at least give you a %25 profit margin.

EDIT: Current Alexa ranking 125,856

I use ppcforhosts and usually go through $50 a month and leave my bids at .25-.35. I do it mostly for branding purposes because I have never seen much results from any advertising so I could not really tell you what the ROI is there.. When I first started there #1 position was like .30-.50 for reseller and shared slots, but it has gone way up now and is generally $1.30+ for both now always to stay in the top 12.

I know this does not help much but just thought I would give you what I have for feedback on them.

I appreciate all input of course, does anyone else have experience with them?
