While I LOVE Site5, I am always looking for a bargain. Does anyone know of Aletiahosting.com? Their plans look good, like Site5, but cheaper. Please help!

Thanks

Quite an amount of people recommending them before. They have/had a problem sometimes ago, I think it should be fixed by now. I do think that I heard somewhere saying after the problem is fixed, and their services are better now.

I have been with them for 2 weeks during their move from BurstNET because of downtime (Note to BurstNET: I'm not attacking you, just explaining what I experianced and have been told) to NAC.net. They did a great job during the transfer--moving all my files and creating my email address that I made so all I had to do was change the DNS!! I have had a couple of questions which I was able to get answered on AIM or quickly with email. They are a great host, just a sightly confusing CPanel (somtimes you have to click the text link, othertimes icons  ) and have had some downtime, but since the move, so far the second prob. has been corrected. I higly recommend them

As previously mentioned regarding such a situation, our data center HAS NOT had too much downtime.
We have approx 99.7% uptime since our data center opened, and majority of minor issues were Sprint backbone related. Our uptime will increase once the new AT&T line goes in 2-3 weeks from now. There have been a few issues with specific servers being down though, but most have been related to:
1. clients overloading their machine so that it could not handle the load.
2. clients changing root passwords, and not notifying our staff, so that we could not complete reboot procedures.
3. clients fiddling with network configurations, so that machines were active, just not pinging.

Anyone that states that the BurstNET data center was have alot of downtime...well, that is just NOT TRUE.

Burst they were also on that UPS failure... and were down for 4+ hours at one time... without knowing a thing. Also, just two nights ago I know they were down for more then 3.5 hours and I was helping them try to contact you, and noone was anywhere to be found. If it was scheduled because of another UPS or something, you really SHOULD tell your customer before your going to be down for any amount of time over 5 minutes. If you don't tell them before... ATLEAST tell them what happened after instead of just acting like nothing hppened.

What can I say? I have moved over 7 Web sites to them and have NEVER experienced such high quality support and understanding.... Bye Bye Addr, Hostsave, ***** ;)

Plus they have those little extras -- a first class CPANEL, No charge on domain pointing and SUPPORT THAT REPLIES !!!!

http://www.aletiahosting.com is worth every cent of that $9.99 a month......

I'll try to be as clear as possible. When i had a site which was hosted on a machine located in the BurstNET NOC for some strange reason, either the NOC being done, Sprint backbone troubles, aliens, whatever I have experianced 2 "blackouts" when my site was not accessible AT ALL. That is what I'm trying to saw. And from what I was told, Aletia is moving because of that and I haven't had any downtime yet.
