Well, seeing as the lease on my truck will be up pretty soon, and I'm definitely not going to buy it out. So, me buying a new car is pretty much definitely going to happen. Buying the car isn't the problem or anything, but see, I have to have the coolest stuff. So my recent idea was to rip out the entire current tape/deck and FM/AM Radio stuff. Replace it with a LCD Screen. Put the LCD Screen where the Radio stuff would be, and then somehow hook a lap top up the LCD Screen. The laptop wouldn't be brand new. Probably some cheap like 300mhz one with 2 gig hard drive or something.

Now my questions:
Could I hook up the laptop and LCD Screen the car alternator, or would both have to battery powered? (Not the car batter)
Would place the laptop on the center console work, or do you think it would be too much of a hazard? Obviously I wouldn't sit there and play games, but more just a way to just listen to music without having the hassle of changing CD's.

Anyone think it is a good idea? Or a bit of overkill?

I think it is a wee bit overkill... i would probably just buy like an iPod or something to use for that purpose

I thought about doing just an MP3 player type thing and hooking it up, but that wouldn't be as cool now would it?
