I think that I'll rent a server for streaming.
Communitech vs. Atjeu ?
I dont know....
I choose this configuration:

[Communitech]
P3-700...512Mb RAM.....2x30Gb Hard Disk....4 IP....20Gb/month.....Plesk......125$ setup+2370$ year

[Atjeu]
P3-700...512Mb RAM.....20,4Gb Hard Disk....25IP
....60Gb/month.....Webmin......200$ setup+3000$ year

Atjeu is more expansive than Communitech.

I need a help...
Thanx

:dunce:

i think Atjeu price is more expensive because
Atjeu give you 60 GB bandwitdh permonth instead communitech that give you only 20 GB per month
but communitech give you higher capacity on hard disk
your call .... :D

how much I'll spend like traffic....

I'll need 1 HD x 30Gb and 30Gb traffic.
Who knows communitech or atjeu ?

If you use 20-30GB per month, Communitech is a better choice. I assume they charge $3 per GB. Excess of 10GB per month would cost you $30 per month or $360 a year.

I would suggest you do a search on Communitech. They seem to have some unethical practices, like giving dozens of clients a 48 hour shutoff notice (unless they got a dedicated server) and telling people they are using 3 times as much bandwidth as they really are in an attempt to get them to move to a dedicated server. They would not appear to be someone you should do business with.

I think that I have a lot of confusion in my mind. After two month, I found 3 serious ISP:

Atjeu
Site5 (for personal reason I exclude it)
Communitech

Why Communitech is a problem ?
Gimme a lot of experience both atjeu than comm.

Thanx

I was a communitech user, and downtime was incredible
!.
The support take days to answear simple questions.
I don't recommend Communitech!
And I know nothing about atjeu. But I read good reviews in this forum.. maybe you must make a search here.
And I suggest you.. take a look to venturesonline.com.
If you pay annualy could get a better price I think.

redman: do a search for both. I looked at some old posts about atjeu and it seems they only have/had a T1 or two. Just something to keep in mind.

I've heard mixed things about communitech, mainly with people being forced to either move or get a dedicated server.

I was going to say that also ... I remember reading it somewhere (could very well be here) that atjeau only has 2 T1 lines. Give them a call and ask for what their backbone connectivity is ...

Actually, you don't even need instructions. Just run a simple install script and it does it all for you. An easy $200

I installed webmin today on my local development box. Can you type this...

rpm -U webmin-0.86.rpm

... at the command line? If you have a linux distro with RPM that's all there is to it! Then just fire up your browser and go to your.domain.name:10000 (webmin uses port 10000 by default).

Instructions for installing from rpm or from source are here:
http://www.webmin.com/webmin/download.html

But it was 1 year ago and I can't remember exactly the server name.

Please, the principal argument is not Webmin or the cost of 200$
Help me to understand if Communitech is better than AtJeu

Redman: Is there some specific reason you're looking only at Communitech and Atjeu? There seem to be some questions regarding both; perhaps you should expand your horizons. There are lots of other companies here (and elsewhere) that have great reputations.

I'm not sure if they would meet your specific requirements, but there are numerous hosts that have happy customers. There's a number listed by teck in this thread: http://WebHostingTalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=12794

As said, I know them for years, I was one of their first resellers, but please, never, never go with them.

Only if you have a simple HTML website without a lot of traffic, thats fine.

We had not only one or two bad things happening to us while with CT, there were hundreds of bad things. Would I have been near them, I would have bought a gun and rushed to their office, I swear !!
