Just wondered if anything ever came of the noises some time ago that Alabanza would offer their admin scripts to people outside of their NOC?

Anybody know anything??

Cheers.

I'm pretty sure they abandoned that idea - I don't think they had the resources to do it. I would just call them and ask, though.

They are going to have to do something to survive. One of if not their biggest client is leaving and going into competition with them and Jumpline has promised to be affordable unlike Alabanza. On top of that, there is some decent competition now with CPanel and Ensim

What other industry can you go into business with such a low investment? I still think Alabanza is cheap considering what you get.

As far a Jumpline. They can boast how low their prices are going to be, but they will find out the same thing Alabanza did. There is a bottom line. No one can cross it and survive unless something comes in to drop that bottom line (technology for example.) I am willing to bet people will be posting to this forum in a year or so complaining about Jumpline's prices.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR..............

You must remember that Alabanza has a huge overhead with their large support, technical staff and multiple network connections. Jumpline might charge lower prices when they start off, but I highly doubt they will be able to offer half decent support and service if they continue with cut throat pricing. What most people don't realiaze is that they aren't paying $800 for a server at Alabanza....you are paying for 24/7 support (NO CHARGE!!!), a great control panel for your clients as well as a great admin control panel and a great network backbone. If you're looking for a server for a low price you can search any where on this board. At Alabanza you have a complete suite of tools to get you started as a web host in 24 hours. Ensim isn't ready for prime time yet (way too slow and buggy) and Cpanel should be called insect it's so buggy (ok that was corny.)

I heard that Alabanza still plans on offering its software to outside hosts, but they don't have an official release date yet.

When/where has Jumpline expressed their plans to break away from Alabanza? And does anyone know what they plan to do with their current customer base?

24/7 support (NO CHARGE!!!),

you would think that means you have support available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. But it really means you will get an auto-responder within 24 hours and an answer in about 7 days

I'm with Alex. I'm standing by Alabanza probably for at least the next 6 months. All my clients love the control panel but prompt response from support has hurt me a bit but I've just had to learn to do things myself. Backup has also hurt me but I think this is now under control at Alabanza. The price is steep at Alabanza but you do get what you pay for. The only thing that is missing is a support component but that just means you have to install your own support system and no one would want to use a standard support tool, everyone wants some thing different. The network at alabanza is good and I've heard many people refer it to as one of the best.

I have been so close to moving hosts but it would take months to do and settle in, and every host has it's problems. If there was such a host with cheap prices, excellent service and support, the best control panels and tools and everything else, I'm sure we would know about them.

If it wasn't for alabanza, I wouldn't have been able to take on so many customers and resellers and do full time university study at the same time.

Alabanza staff is clearly overworked. They are nice, but there is a limit to what they can do . I am behind Alabanza for their software though.

Cheers !!
