Did a search and still no user past experiences with fatcow (http://www.fatcow.com) web hosting. Anyone recently host with them or have any input on this web hosting company?
Thanks,

Regards, Chris drhonk 06-16-2001, 12:09 AM I don't know anyone use fatcow for hosting .. but I know that they've been around for a long time. edude 06-16-2001, 02:30 AM Yep i agree - lol, love the name :) Originally posted by ICS Canada LOL! And they do not supply enough features for the price the ask for compared to many other hosts. Other thanthis, their servers are fast. I wasnt with them long enough to know abotu downtime , sorry And yes, the name probably did attract me to sign up :) dont let it get to u :p AlaskanWolf 06-17-2001, 04:24 AM damn fatcow is still around. i wonder if that gal i always use to talk to still works there hehe..that was 5'ish years ago if not longer...wonder if they still got the same owner... gjenkin 07-05-2001, 02:07 PM I've been using fatcow for about a year, and I've had no problems at all. Unlike Cyrus, my experience with their support has been pretty good ... 24 hour support is always a big plus, and their support interface is simple to use. As far as downtime, in the year that I've used them, the only time that they went down was during scheduled maintenance ... which was only two or three times. And I can categorically say this, because I use ArsDigita's "uptime" to receive notifications of when a server has gone down. Perhaps the only negative is that they are still using PHP3. Sometimes, it would be nice to have session variables, so the PHP3 thing is annoying. But if you can live with this, then Fatcow is a good choice. - G Dogma 07-05-2001, 04:41 PM They must be doing well as they have an advertising budget that allows them to buy a half page ad in Wired Magazine..... SoftWareRevue 07-05-2001, 05:20 PM Gotta like anyone brave enough to name themself fatcow:D m6.net 07-05-2001, 10:08 PM I heard about them around a year ago..."fatcow" name is funny. One won't forget once heard. First I thought that they are local milk suppliers :D but was amazed to know that they are hosting company. AlaskanWolf 07-05-2001, 10:11 PM i have a feeling the ones who own Fatcow today arent the orginal owners. Its been so long since i worked with them, i forgot the owners name. |
