Still seeking that dedicated server.

Has anyone used Simplicityhosting.com? Any experience with them good, bad, or whatever is appreciated.

Also, I have noticed that, for the most part, only about 5 dedicated hosts get discussed here. Is it because some owners of those companies frequent this board a lot or is there another reason?

Why aren't some of the other companies discussed? What about some of the larger companies?

Just trying to get as much info as I can before I jump from my present shared server situation to a dedicated.

I'm using their service.

They provide a very poor support service. For example, it took 4 days for them to set up a MySQL database for me - that is after several email which went unanswered. It's not the first time I am experiencing this.

The control panel they provide is very lame. It's nothing like cPanel. I can do very little with it. For example, I have to request them for:

1. DNS setup
2. change file attributes in some cases - if my FTP client is unable to do it.
3. A user cannot even change their email password. I have to login to the control panel and do it. And it take ages for them to perform the tast, because its not automated.

They are cheap. But it's not worth the poor service they give. I'm looking for another hosting company. It was a mistake paying them for a whole year.

fyi - just saw this old post. Simplicity has cPanel and many other things available since this time. The old custom system is being phased out, etc...
