View Full Version : Offshore virtual hosting (NOT dedicated or co-located)

As I have an adult-oriented website, I have been strongly advised to have it hosted with an offshore company, for privacy's sake. I have been searching and searching, and so far the only reasonably priced site host that I have found is http://hitrust.net, aka First Alpina, out of the Netherlands. Granted their site isn't much to speak of, but it does come recommended.

I was trying to find any other offshore hosts that would accommodate a small simple site like mine. I have no need for a dedicated or co-located server, and I find that those are the only services that most offshore hosts offer.

Any assistance in the form of recommendations (including URLs) you could provide would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
spygrrl

Why exactly would an adult site need to be hosted "offshore"? Most adult sites on the net are hosted in the US.

Because, like offshore banks, offshore web hosting companies do not release your private info to any agency or person whatsoever. I prefer my privacy.

Now, can you offer me anything constructive?

How is the Netherlands offshore? I mean, they're in the European Union, right? I would have thought there's just as much regulation as, say, in US?

I was just asking a simple question. Sorry to have ruined your day.

What kind of bandwidth and space requirements are you looking for? How much are you planning to spend? What's the "extent" of the adult material involved?

To get the best results, give as much detail as you can about your situation. We can recommend better hosts to you as the information is more refined. :)

Netherlands are not offshore :) If you really need this I would look out for some of the small islands/countries and maybe ask some of the NICs. But I would be in fear to be ripped off...
