Hi,

I'm looking for someone in Germany who can tell me more about the facilities etc for hostingcompanies in Germany.

I am from Austria, not from Germany, but if your questions are not too specific maybe I can help. If not, it would help too if you tell us what you need to know.

Rule number one:

Avoid Strato AG!

They are the biggest host, but their reputation regarding "up"time is not very good.

:) But it would help if you ask specific questions. No one will type in 10 pages of text analyzing the german market.

TheOp:

Can you tell me a little bit more about 1&1. I'd like to see some sites hosted by them.

Looks tempting. :)

I know they host ~ 1.5 million vitruals. I believe they are Germanys largest registrar (they also own schlund-partner) and web host.

I spent 2 days at their facility, and was extremely impressed. They have an unbelievable support staff.

I like their Advanced Windows hosting: http://www.schlund.de/

1&1/Schlund are the No. 2 on German market, Strato is No. 1. But maybe this will change as Strato had many downtimes in the last months and this problems where discussed in public so there will be some damage...
