Hello :)

I'm sure a lot of people did already ask about this... but *lol* let me ask for it again. Wouldn't it be a good idea to make a new forum in here.... about jobs? No B2B stuff... but just job offers?

I know... there are a lot of sites around offering people to search for/offer jobs... but it would be really great to have a forum like this in WHT.

Don't you agree? :)

Cheers,
Tortellini

P.S. i know ... new forum = more work for the moderators...

P.S.S. is anybody out there looking for a good guy with good internet skills... speaking sort of English :), perfect German and Italian? :D

There are already 2 forums, mainly for this purpose.
the web hosting and web design advert/offers forum?

Hi Martie, yes I saw them... but (probably I'm wrong) they are in fact full of hosting/webdesign offers... but I did just find very little job offers. (I'm talking about 'real' jobs... not project based stuff)

I've seen a few job offers in the Management, recruitment, etc. forum.

The problem is that you can't have a forum for everything. If we did, then it would either be a very long list of forum topics, or we'd have to go to nestled forums, which I personally hate.

We'll have to look at some of the posts in the threads, and I've seen and others have mentioned, that the General Web Forum could be split too. Hopefully we can do this next month (see if there is anything that can be changed to make it easier for you and the other members).

thanks chicken, yes you are right about this... perhaps it's my fault.... coz I do not see such a big relation between webdesign/hosting adverts... and job offers :)

Cheers!

I think you should keep everything the way it is! It works very nice and rarely is there no forum to post a thread into. The only 2 forums which I might want to see are:
Job offerings (longterm like Sysadmin or something like that)
A general webdesign forum just for all the designers here
Just my, no I can't say 2 cents everyone does!!

Just my ideas, thoughts, wants.....

Job offerings would be nice, but there are many forums out there for webdesigners, I don't think we need another one (just my 2c too)

Thing is John, we just don't get all that many members posting job openings. Yes, there are some, just not a whole lot.

The other area I was talking about beofre is someting Deb and/or Martie mentioned, which was something to the effect of separating the 'what host do you recommend?' from the 'how do you do this?' type posts.

More forums means more clicking to get to sections, less reponses often times due to people not just reading down a list of posts and having to choose to go into an area or not, etc. It always sounds like a good idea, and seems to make sense (tidy up the topics), but I've seen it backfire.

I think the current number of forums is fine. It's much easier to open up one forum and pick which posts to read in that forum, than opening that forum as well as 3 subforums.

Just IMHO.

"Management, Recruitment, Legal Issues, Merchant Accounts and Credit Cards" seems like it should handle that?
