Does anyone know exactly how authenticates user logins?
Does it use the /etc/passwd file or some database?

Who does it keep the users logged in, with sessions or cookies?
Does anyone know what the sessions are called or what the cookies look like?

I'm trying to do some intergrations with Cpanel and details would be helpful.
