Hi,

I'm just wondering of there is an average cancellation rate of annual hosting accounts? Anyone know of an industry average? It would be great if anyone had info on monthly, quarterly, annual cancellation rate?

If you are doing a good job, how many customers can you can expect to keep after a year on average on a percentage basis.

I have a friend who runs a hosting service, he says about 80% annually renew.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Dunno about industry standard but it's pretty high, I'd say at least 10% of yearlies end up refunded, might be more, people forget they have accounts, didn't know it was recurring, etc etc. What I hate is when they do a chargeback without even contacting you in any way, had a couple this year do that, and it really bites when you have to swallow a $29 chargeback fee and no one even gives you the oppurtunity to just issue a fricking refund.
