You're dreaming.

At this rate if you want an Aussie server you'd need to pay at least $100/month for the amount of bandwidth you're requesting.

And yes, I'm deadly serious here.

I have heard from someone said that aussie wholesale price is about 15 cent per mb. Thats about Aus$150/gb. Currency ratio is about US$1 : Aus $ 2.
Ouch Ouch !!

Hi,

That price per Mb is correct (roughly) -- basically due to Telstra. Why is it so important to have the server in Australia? Some US based servers can have very good performance.

If you do find somewhere, please tell me -- I'd be very interested to find out, since I manage the website for the company I work for (in Australia).

Simon Russell.

Oh please, 20 gig is to much to get in australia, your lucky if you get 2 gig and that cost around $1000.00, look at webcentral.com.au, lol, even $100.00 is to little :)

I wouldn't bother trying to find a reasonably priced host in Australia - we are at the arse end of the telecommunications world :D There was one interesting Aussie host mentioned in a recent thread on the same issue at www.sitepointforums.com - in the web hosting forum. I would find the link and post it here except that the www.rackshack NOC is currently unreachable.

Since our company is based in australia, we did a lot of searching for a reasonable priced host. We couldnt find one, however, our server in Denver, gets a much better responce than our clients previous hosts. These include Gil online, Telstra, and others. Since in australia Data is one of the most expensive things around, you wont find a "resonably" priced host at all. If you do, the reliablilty just wont be there. Our clients have never been happier since they have hosted with us and Im sure they wont ever go back. You might want to consider a host in the USA.

You'd get a little over 1gb/month for that money down here.

hi
i see it is impossible to take it with 30$

i can take 50gb for 125$ in Turkey

as i think prices are lower than Turkey in Australia

thanks

Why would you go with Turkey instead of a US or European based host? I can guarantee you the backbone infrastructure in the US and Western Europe is more advanced and cheaper.

Good luck,

:homer: Maybe you shouldn't rely on children's cartoons to keep you too well informed... just an idea.

yeah well telstra has a stupid monopoly on data transfer, and they are a really really bad company. In fact, they've just capped broadband over here to 3GB per month..

I'm head of a protest which Ive shut down (due to personal reasons)...but looking for someone to run it.

(it might be down due to DNS changes)

Are you looking for fully managed services? Or just a box plugged straight into the backbone? What OS? You supplying the box? Or do you want pay for something custom built locally?

I could get something happening with that type of bandwidth for about $600 to $650 (around US$300) per month, plus negotiable setup costs and ongoing hourly rate administration if needed.

Do you need this amount of bandwith right away, or are you planning on building up to it? The reason I ask is because it would be pointless putting a 50 to 100mb hdd in it :-). So we could possibly look at sharing the resources (and costs) with you.

Drop me a line at support@aussiehosts.com and provide me with some more details. Alternatively, we should move this discussion to the advertising forum if you want us to post any further details.
