Please suggest some hosts. This is for a non-profit site that is a meeting place for my friends and I. I'm on mediaone right now, but they don't support and CGI.

I think it's time to take a step up, and incorporate more exciting features on my site. Looking for perl CGI support and not some crazy high monthly fee(since the site is non-profit and has no ads).

Thanks for your time :)

Superfrappe, if you wish to have this moved to the advertising forum, where hosts can reply directly to you, just reply here or report this post and state that then some of the mods will be happy to do that.

Hmm, I was really trying to get some responses from the members of this board.

I don't need too much space, or crazy bandwidth. My site prolly only gets 100 hits a day. It does have many gifs on it, but nothing that demands too much speed. I just want to be able to use scripts on the site. Make it more interesting. Put up polls and keep a member database. Things like that.

Very simple stuff.

Any ideas guys and gals?

Try www.venturesonline.com - Their basic package should suit you well.

Try hostsave.com (http://www.hostsave.com) - as long as you do not need much support it is OK. I've been with them for 2 years before I needed more from a hosting company. Support lacks but reliability has been OK. It is cheap - $6.95 - I guess you know, what you can expect for that money.

Your requirement is just CGI support? Take a look here hostdiscount.net

I must caution against http://www.hostsave.com - I have *just* moved one of my sites from them. The last straw was waiting 4 days for a reply to a urgent tech support question.... very poor. And if I get another one of those damn hostsave cut-and-pasted "everything is fine now" replies I will go mad!

Pay a few $$ more and go with http://www.aletiahosting.com -- simply amazing tech support and a really professional attitude.

It's SO REFRESHING to get a support request response in the same day! ;O)
