dbbrock1 04-02-2003, 06:25 PM Have you tried hostskin.com?
tommyboy 04-02-2003, 06:35 PM I don't like them, I am looking for something nice and corporate. Like mini-pixelbrick or 2advanced, plz dont flame me I am not on a VERY cheap budget I know there is some nice freelancer out there which is cheap too.
just wondering if anyone knows who?
thx
Esr Tek 04-02-2003, 06:40 PM tommy - Check out my site.
If you like that kinda work I can get you in contact w the designer.
He is currently looking to fill his portfolio and will give you an excellent deal ;)
His site is half finished, due to doing mine and another referral I sent him (which he just finshed ;) )
tommyboy 04-02-2003, 06:41 PM hey he is good, no offence though i am looking for something very nice and corporate. I am sure he will be very good in a year or two. nice site though. good luck
Esr Tek 04-02-2003, 06:53 PM good luck in search ;)
inkhead 04-02-2003, 07:21 PM okay no offense to those pixelbrick sites. but those are NOT nice, and definitely NOT corporate. Go to coolhomepages.com (they sucks) but look at all the big corporations listed there. do any of them look anything like pixel brick? maybe you just mean you want a site like every other host has :-P good luck!
tommyboy 04-02-2003, 07:36 PM yes ok so tell me what is good then
i just say this because people seem to think they are so good
like i say this is not a debate I just want to know your opinions.
0wned 04-02-2003, 07:43 PM Talk to a guy on these forums named Samuel
He is amazing and would be in your budget :)
tommyboy 04-02-2003, 07:44 PM can you post some of his work please? or can he post some work? you sure he is top notch in everyones eyes right? something that would make you say "WOW"
ArthurDavis 04-02-2003, 10:00 PM I can get you in touch with the guys that did Verio's website. :) Its going to cost more than $500 though.
tommyboy 04-02-2003, 11:32 PM i said $500-$1500 if not i dont want to hear about it thx
tommyboy 04-02-2003, 11:33 PM hi also verio website not that interesting to me, so don't bother
i don't care if it is a BIG customer, I only care if they are doing quality work could be 13 years old as long as it is nice.
dbbrock1 04-02-2003, 11:47 PM What type of design are you looking for? I'm guessing you are referring to a pixelbrick design. Like someone said before me, the pixelbrick designs aren't very corporate.
Don't get me wrong, pixelbrick designs are breath taking.
empoweri 04-03-2003, 12:00 AM Pixelbrick sites may be pretty to the eye BUT the navigation on them are terrible (look at modernbill.com) A good designer not only does the design but also the navigation.

You want a site like 2advanced for $500-$1500?
I think you forgot several Zeros bud =)
tommyboy 04-03-2003, 02:26 AM infitity
can you not read? I have delt with freelance designers who are BETTER then 2advanced in the past, 2advanced is only an image nothing more, people pay for the name not the site. Where do you think they get the designs from? employees who used to be freelancers. Most of the good freelacers get jobs. I also told you i dont want flaming so please keep your comment to your self.
and i will say again i want QUALITY I say pixelbrick because everyone seem to like it, not me but everyone here does.
thanks
plz also do not PM me with your design site if you are not professional. i do not want to see somethign i could make with geocities
ok bye

Your nuts my friend...btw...if you're going to get smart with me at least spell my name right =)
Anyways, if you know someone who will make a site as good or better than 2advanced (for the price you quoted), by all means send em my way as well !
Thanks!
Jeff Rambo 04-03-2003, 03:49 AM $1500 will get you 10 - 15 hours of design work at most reputable & serious "firms," mine included.
You probably could get something knocked out in that timeframe if the firm takes on a select amount of work at any given time to accomodate the scheduling/hours you have allotted to you.
tommyboy 04-03-2003, 04:36 AM hi,
ok listen I am not looking for a firm, I said I KNEW PEOPLE before they got jobs IE THEY WERE STILL IN COLLEGE, if you still do not understand, don't waste your time posting because I am not going to say it again.
jeff -
thanks your site looks good but don't like the orange i am not looking for an expensive firm like I said, though I am not looking to pay $50 like most poeple on wht.
Jeff Rambo 04-03-2003, 05:22 AM I understood your request, 5x5. My reply was more so to present a generalized idea of the basic pricing formula most firms use and show that asking for something in your budget (albeit at the far right of it) isn't exactly far-fetched even with a design firm as opposed to a freelancer. It would simply be bare minimums though. I was neither attempting to sell my firm's services to you nor bash you.
What is your nationality? Excuse me if you take this offensively, but something that may help you greatly is if you target your request toward someone who you can communicate with without any loss in translation. I have a strong feeling English is your second language, which can damage results in this business. The better the communication between you and your designer, the faster your project will be completed and the more likely you are to have limited revisions due to initial or near initial satisfication.
I am very reluctant to take on business from clients who do not speak the languages spoken amongst my staff fluently. It takes away business, but it saves a lot of pain & suffering at the same time. Luckily, between myself and my 6 staff members we speak English, Spanish, Japanese, Arabic and Farsi fluently. Note: All of us are English speakers by trade so to speak.
Some may think it is a shady business practice but most companies of our nature have the same "unwritten policy," but simply do not have a big enough pair to admit it due to "reputations." Pfft!
And as far as the orange goes... we can't please everyone. :D
Good luck to you.
tommyboy 04-03-2003, 06:42 AM Hey jeff,
I am actually FIRST LANGUAGE ENGLISH from north america, I am just typing really quickly here and not thinking of the words that are going into this.
i am actually just helping a friend out who is in need of some design.
thanks
philm 04-03-2003, 07:27 AM You might want TO LEARN to talk and EXPRESS yourself without the AGRESSION that appears IN ALL your posts, YOU come across as a fool....
BP Steven 04-03-2003, 08:12 AM No offence tommyboy, but with your attitude I would expect that most people wouldn't want to work with you at all, especially for such a low price. People are just trying to help you out and you insult them for it. Even if the information doesn't help you it may help someone else reading this thread.
mrl14 04-03-2003, 11:40 AM Well said philm, BP Steven =)
tommyboy 04-03-2003, 12:27 PM thanks,
but as i have said 10 times at least now I DO NOT WANT YOUR OPINIONS, i only need help
I do not understand why you guys don't get this?
thx
philm 04-03-2003, 12:33 PM LMAO :D
I think YOU'RE beyond HELP!
We probably don't 'GET THIS' as we left OUR spoilt CHILD streak a good few years back ;)
ArthurDavis 04-03-2003, 01:05 PM hahaha this kid has an attitude beyond attitudes. listen n00b, get a life, get some REAL cash and find someone LOCAL to do the design for you. If you wanted some suggestions or offers you should've posted in the offers forum not here. You're the only one here with a smartA** mouth when the only thing people are trying to do is HELP you.
ubergeek22 04-03-2003, 01:37 PM Guys, give him a break. Yes, he could communicate a bit better but some of you should actually *read* his requests - a designer for <$1500 isn't impossible to find, although WHT might not be the place to find it.
Try www.yaxay.com or www.somethingleet.com, or follow the personal portfolio links on www.k10k.net - they aren't all bigheaded designers, some are very reasonable and willing.

Why not use then again?
tommyboy 04-03-2003, 02:36 PM thx ubergeek at least some one is on the same page
wbhd - i have said the reason 2 times now you might want to read before posting crap.
thx
I have no attitude, just people are putting useless clutter in my thread
why? there is no reason
thx
dapon 04-03-2003, 02:58 PM Try www.odysseydesign.net. She does good work at reasonable prices. Very easy to work with.
www.digitalpulsedesigns.com designed my site (properhosting.com), but before looking at properhosting.com and saying "no way", just realize I like things simple and no pizazz. I've found they can do anything you want. Anyway, worth taking a look.
FW-Mike 04-04-2003, 12:06 AM www.xeofreestyle.com does good work it seems, i dont know their prices, though. What are your thoughts tommy?
tommyboy 04-04-2003, 03:06 AM thanx
now you are being helpfull
i am looking at xeo look cool :)
eprodigy 04-05-2003, 09:15 PM I like http://www.webprosys.com
they did:
fdcservers.net
ehostpros.com
mpope 04-06-2003, 01:38 AM tommyboy - you can find a designer around here that will do what you want for $500-$1500. Don't let everyone discourage you. :)
you could also buy a template for a couple hundred and convert it to a full site yourself... I've been more than impressed with works done by wello and creedence (look up both those usernames with the username search feature here)
Anyway... there are a ton of really good designers that are high school / college students and $1000 with them will get you a months worth of work. :D
allan 04-06-2003, 03:05 AM MOD Note: Okay, I have cleaned out the blatant advertising and off-topic bickering. I don't want to close this thread, so please keep in mind that we take the BE POLITE rule very seriously. That means please try to be respectful of what the original poster is asking, it also means that it is a good idea to listen to people who may have more experience than you.
ITGEEK 04-06-2003, 03:17 AM thanks allen... much appreciated!
charlesw 04-06-2003, 04:52 AM whoops, gotta edit this post because I just read the rules about advertising.
cyberlot 04-06-2003, 08:23 AM Creative Design Associates (http://creativedesignassociates.com/)
Tell them Richard sent you.
MOD Note: Advertising your own services in this forum is in violation of the rules, please review the rules so this does not happen again
