Thank You ciqala 04-02-2003, 11:02 AM enom.com (but only through reseller account as you get major discounts i.e. $30 down to as low as $6.95 depending on how much you deposit with them) or namecheap.com (enom reseller that have flat rate $8.88 fee per years registration on all new names or transfers) both allow you to create your own nameservers and a lot more stuff. metazero 04-02-2003, 11:06 AM No, im not interested in reselling. I just want a registrar that i can transfer a few domains to. I looked at namecheap.com and they seem to be ok. How about registerfly.com? Anything about them? aatayyab 04-02-2003, 11:15 AM never try OnlineNIC.com ... they ate my 7 domains with the worst service over 2 years. recently HACKED and ATTACKED. dmaven 04-02-2003, 11:18 AM I use Registerfly, have almost 60 domains with them. Excellent domain manager and many cool services(sub-users, marketplace etc). I recommend highly babarami 04-02-2003, 11:21 AM Check godaddy.com, highly recommended, support reply less than 6 hours wintek 04-02-2003, 11:27 AM You cold get an eNom retail account. I'm sure you could find someone to set you up an $8.95 account. ciqala 04-02-2003, 02:17 PM metazero you dont need to resell their services many people have a $6.95 account purely for their own registrations. but namecheap are also good. I have about the same amount of names with each of them and never had any problems. Ciq PositiveHost 04-02-2003, 09:13 PM Godaddy.com. Highly recommended. RMF 04-02-2003, 09:46 PM 000Domains.com is pretty good. I got about 50 domains with them. RMF Razer 04-03-2003, 12:35 AM 2 thumbs up 4 name cheap if u dont have your own 6.95 enom reseller account. kktsang 04-03-2003, 01:47 AM Originally posted by PositiveHost Godaddy.com. Highly recommended. it seems that godaddy.com has a complex pricing scheme could you tell me the pricing of godaddy.com ? kktsang 04-03-2003, 01:48 AM Originally posted by RMF 000Domains.com is pretty good. LJH 04-03-2003, 02:20 AM ONLINENIC did well previously for their cheapist price($6.69)and great service. But their nameserve was attacked by Ddos.I had received two letters from them explain the whole affair. At least the support group are very responsible.I like them.Maybe you can registrate there later. hostmaniac 04-03-2003, 05:06 AM Originally posted by LJH ONLINENIC did well previously for their cheapist price($6.69)and great service. But their nameserve was attacked by Ddos.I had received two letters from them explain the whole affair. At least the support group are very responsible.I like them.Maybe you can registrate there later. Wow, their servers have been down for days and you still like them. You're not hard to please. As for me, I'm pissed! LJH 04-03-2003, 05:40 AM Originally posted by hostmaniac Wow, their servers have been down for days and you still like them. You're not hard to please. As for me, I'm pissed! The issue can't be avioded for most of the registrars.I have been a long business with ONLINENIC.You can't deny the great service they ever provided. And these days I try to contact them by ICQ,They told me they are trying their best and everything will be OK afer a few days. What's your problem?Maybe you can try by ICQ. digitalSite 04-03-2003, 03:19 PM I am currently with OnlineNIC...yes, great support...BUT, the thing I don't like is how to get domains registered on my site in real-time...that template is a pain - having to manually transfer my funds to customer's account. I am looking for something more automated. How do you handle a customer who wants to by multiple domains from your site? LJH 04-03-2003, 09:10 PM I'am sorry,My domains there is a small amount. So I haven't suffered from these.Do you come through the problems(handle a customer who wants to by multiple domains from your site?)many times? If so,Maybe you can contact their support for special handling offer.otherwise,Maybe we have to handle it painfully.:(.recently,I heard that the T3 with be advanced to T4,maybe we can't ofer them some suggestions. Acroplex 04-03-2003, 11:41 PM I recommend Stargate.com - an ICANN accredited Registrar. You can message "Stargate.com" on this forum. PS I've no affiliation with them other than being their customer for almost 2 years. zoli 04-04-2003, 01:38 AM enom is the best solution for you... :) Akash 04-04-2003, 04:00 AM In no particular order... Ciq Ciq, I am aware of the thread and it is not accurate. Stargate acts upon and investigates every "security claim" we receive. Moral of the story: "Don't belive everything you read", especially in public forums. Tom SoftWareRevue 04-04-2003, 10:00 AM Used Stargate a couple years now. Nothing but good things to say about them. ciqala 04-05-2003, 04:00 PM Originally posted by Stargate.com Ciq, I am aware of the thread and it is not accurate. Tom This may be the case but one of the people involved in that thread is someone I know to be a totally dependable person who has no reason to post such things under a false agenda. The important thing is that you are obviously keeping in touch with the community of people that deal in domains which is commendable. and I didnt intend to make it sound like a flame I was merely passing on information I heard which may/may not have been of direct importance to the subject of this thread. Acroplex 04-05-2003, 04:07 PM Ciq, Unfortunately, Bob from DNF - that I believe you are referring to - simply regurgitated some blab about a password request flaw that seems to have affected reseller accounts (not regular or bulk accounts) some time in the past and that it has been dealt with. I could not reproduce the flaw despite a detailed 'walkthrough'. Three years ago I brought to the attention of GoDaddy.com a huge security hole (database related) that exposed all personal info through some cookie editing. How about that? I will continue to have Stargate.com at the top of my list, along with Enom.com and 000domains.com ciqala 04-05-2003, 04:41 PM ok, thats sounds like a feasible possibility. please disregard my original post regarding Stargate.com. intellec 04-05-2003, 06:51 PM godaddy.com is easy to use, especially for creating nameservers |
