My server was down around 5 pm yesterday. I don't know why (probably a full harddisk) but it takes them soooo long to do stuff there. Now (12 am next day) it's still not back online and meanwhile all my 10 sites are down.
I don't understand that repairing a server should take this long. Is there anyone out here with the same experience? I want to know how long it's going to take :-(

Not the same thing but my server went down friday evening and they couldn't reboot it because of the flood in Houston. It got back up monday. Talk about being unlucky...:(

is this a dedicated server or a shared server?

if it is shared i would have expected them to have monitored the space before any problems started. and replace the disk using hot swappable technology, or otherwise have informed you before the problem to allow enough time for you to have informed customers.

if it is dedicated then it would be upto you to monitor the disk space and inform them before any problems arise.

It's a dedicated. Maybe it's my (or one of my clients) error but it's just the amount of time they need to repair it.. 24 hours downtime is really too much for a busy server.

ok, its dedicated, this makes it your situation, did you predict the situation on the server or was it completely unexpected?

im really sorry to say but if i ran out of hard disk space on my dedicated server and it took 24 hours to sort out the situation i would in no way be annoyed.

maybe as a constructive criticism you should install some memory and disk space monitoring tools on your server to ensure this does not happen in future?

Maybe. But like I said.. I'm not sure if that's the problem at all. I just can't think of another reason.

No. I don't like those long distance calls and I'm not that comfortable with talking english :-)
They seem very helpfull everytime i talk to them though. There's someone finding out what's happening with it right now so I hope he can get it back online, or at least tell me what to problem is.
