I live in Italy and have an host with HostPro.
Since last Saturday I'm experiencing slow connectivity to my site and to many sites hosted in America. I tried to change ISP, but it seems a common routing problem: I noticed infact that now IP packets are going from the Milan Internet Exchange (MIX) to Frankfurt and then to New York (on a 155Mbit/s line, I think), instead than taking the "usual" route to Paris, London and New York (2.5 Gbit/s as far as I know)
Can somebody confirm that there is a problem with International routing from Italy (and maybe other countries) or I was unlucky and tried only ISPs which have that problem?

Please note that HostPro is innocent: the sites on which I'm experiencing slow connectivity are hosted by different providers. Even microsoft.com has slow connectivity!

Pings report enormous delays and many packets losses.

You may want to post some traceroutes to let us have a look at it.

(And Frankfurt - New York is obviously not possible) :)

Why the route Frankfurt-New York is not possible? It is reported by NeoTrace (hop 5: 146.188.4.29)

These tools are unfortunately not always geographically accurate. You may want to use the traceroute program coming with your operating system.
