I'm not able to reach my server, the Vox info page or the Vox forum. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

I can reach info.voxtreme.com just fine......

traceroute to it and see what you get...

Odd... I still can't reach any of those sites. I'm not fluent in how to read a traceroute report, and lots of data returned, but here's the final "leg" of the route:

9 koi1.dnsvelocity.com (66.246.29.116) 48 bytes to 212.96.130.141 86.536 ms
92 bytes from 127.0.0.1 to 127.0.0.1: icmp type 3 (Dest Unreachable) code 3
4: x54000045
8: x0000cfdd

20: x0100007f

48: x02000000
52: x03000000

60: x00000000

80: x06000000
84: x00000000
88: x00000000
92.178 ms 90.039 ms

Does that offer any insight? All I picked up on was the (Dest Unreachable) that was in there, but as I said, I'm sure how to interpret these statistics.

I have no problem accessing them and my server is fine

This is baffling me. I am not experiencing problems reaching other sites, but for some reason I still can't reach any of my sites at Vox, or the info page. None of my Vox email accounts are connecting either.

Anyone have any ideas? It sounds like there's something wrong on my end, but it worked fine earlier, and other sites don't seem to be affected. Hmmm...

it may be a router problem on their end...

I just sent them an email to inform them of my situation. I'll post back when I learn more. Thanks.

All connectivity is back now. I have not received an explanation yet. It was down for me for over an hour. I'll let you know if I learn anything more.

Well, Vox couldn't find any problems, so I'm left scratching my head. Unfortunately, I didn't save the entire traceroute, which was a learning experience for me. It will be the first thing I do if I encounter a similar problem in the future.

Thanks to all for the help.

What part of the world are you in?

A handy tool in situations like this is http://www.traceroute.org/

Using that site the country and often the ISP can be found where a trace can be done to see if it's the ISP, host or somewhere in between.

We are having problems also :( for at least a few hours. icq.com traceroute.org hotscripts.com - seems like most of the internet is down from here, but obviously not.

A tracert is showing about 14 request timed outs

check your computer whether you're using a proxy server or not.
Or A firewall ? if you are on a network a network problem?

We've had a few complaints from various people about connectivity issues from a few locations in the world - however, nothing on our end was down, the only issue we had was a bad script causing high loads.

Were you able to access other sites hosted at NAC?

John D.

That's a good question. Can you recommend a few that you know are hosted at NAC? That way the next time this problem occurs (like right now) I can check to see if it's perhaps an NAC problem.

I can't imagine it's a problem on my end, since I can access all other sites, and since a few other people have been reporting the same problems.

I'll run a full traceroute right now. Once I know which other sites are hosted at NAC I'll always incorporate that test as well, but I have to admit that I hope this stops happening straight away. Youthful optimism and all.... ;)

Always worth checking NAC.net - and if Bob doesn't mind, httpme.com too.

Those are the two that come to mind.

Matt - it seems NAC are having a few issues with their London POP on the LINX network at Telehouse. I have run a few traces over the past 6 hours or so and there is either high latency or packet loss at the London POP. No problems from internally within the US though. I have raised a ticket about it.
