For all who didn't believe that FDC is about the worst dedicated hosting provider you can find, take a look at this. That's what they call 'excellent support'.

yes you can

Why are you so bent on bashing FDC? Almost every post you make you correct someone about them or offer your own opinion about how inferior their services are. I don't think pre-sales information is comparible to customer support (ie you asked about a sale, not asking for a problem to be fixed on your server).

Why are you so bent on defending and promoting this company?

Because their service and support has been excellent for me. But then again, I'm an easy going guy, and people on here seem to have vendettas that last forever...

Well I must say, you are a very easy customer for them. In the 6 days you have been with them there have been 4 outages and you seem to see that as normal. And then if I get such a reaction when I'm only requesting information, I wouldn't exactly see that as a normal treatment.

Well, I do. Usually hosting companies are actually even more helpful with pre-sale, as they are trying to gain customers (at least, hosting companies like these..)

too many noobs just ask too many questions and gets people pissed, like i have a website before related to gaming, people ask me stupid questions all time and i get pissed and dont respond their emails. But again, i dont charge them for the service, and FDC does, but i heard lot of good things about them

Reseller support is pretty slow... I opened a ticket on March 28th or so, the request still hasn't been done correctly.

I didn't know resellers got support.

Reseller accounts, on their servers - I use it for backing up my site. I wouldn't use it for production use, but it is a powerful server (Dual Xeon 2.4Ghz, 4-8GB RAM - not sure which, and a whole bunch of HDs).

I simply needed an account copied, and it still hasn't been assigned to my reseller account yet.

Oh okay. Well sorry to say but this Apoc dude sounds like he has a very personal vendetta against them.

If I wasn't a nice guy, I would have canceled my account and moved elsewhere by now. I only need to access the server once per day for backups, so it's decent at best for me.

FDC has been golden for me. I've been with them since last august. Their support is top notch. ALWAYS reply within 10 hours. Even the owner, Petr, replies quickly. There was that outage because of cogent, but other than that, nothing. I don't have clients to worry about, so I don't worry as much as you guys.

VERDICT: FDC is great.

FDC support is mistery for me ;)
They are sometimes ok and more, but most of the situations I had with them, they was slow and unefficient.
Slow - this means that average reply for me was at least 10 hours. For every reply after that you must wait at least 5 hours.
There was situations that after 4-5 replies they request root pass from me, besides it is shown in prior conversation in the same message.
No one of issues so far has been solved with help of support, even simple things like fstab fix or something. Each time I was only wasting time with them (even 2-3 days). The only thing they can help you is to do reinstall, and you will get that within 15-20 hours or less, if you point that in first or second mail.
This can be tolerated, as those are unamanaged server. The problem is when you really need their help and dont want doing reinstall - they (it seems) do not have people who can help you in this case, even for money/hour.

I must say that they, on the other side, did not make problems to me during upgrade; they even gave me little more than I was paid for.

Comparing with some other posts here about other providers, it seems that they are not much better or worst support than other (average) providers, for price they offer.
I think they are not the worst, as some people says.

Well, ok Featureprice and that kind of business is worse ofcourse. But in an other email some time ago they were talking about 24/7 support. 10 hours, or anything that comes close to that isn't what I'd call 24/7 support. They're also talking about excellent support, this email doesn't come anywhere close to that. All this combined with their bad uptime makes them a bad host to me..
