View Full Version : burst.net: sales request completed ?
MrGoodHost 06-12-2001, 08:14 PM I signed up for a server at burst.net today and recieved a couple messages on progress then a message saying sales request complete ? What does this mean ? No new server info accompanied it , does this mean they have accepted my credit card and are proceeding ? Does it mean the server is up ? Anybody else sign up with them recently and get this message ?
I did email support a little while ago asking about it but figured this may be a normal thing for them but would like to hear from others who have recently signed up .
Aside from this one message , all of the other messages were informative and professional . Maybe I'm not holding my mouth right ?
MrGoodHost 06-12-2001, 08:23 PM Subject says " order completed " but message body says :
" This sales request has been closed"
kinda confusing ?
MrGoodHost 06-12-2001, 08:38 PM Never got a ticket for the support request I sent in , do they not use tickets ?
BurstNET 06-12-2001, 09:01 PM If you ordered a dedicated server from us, you would have received an inquiry from us requesting setups details for your server. Once we received such, you would have received a quick note that we received such, and that we were processing your order.
The ticket with the setup details would be closed at that time as well. After that point you can expect the server delivery 12-48 hours following....depending on hardware stock.

MrGoodHost 06-12-2001, 09:20 PM Thanks Sean , I just got a response from my email support request as well , and just so the readers here know , the support request was responded to quickly , I was just checking with other users while I waited .
You may want to change that "sales request closed " message to add what you stated above , it is somewhat confusing , I wasn't sure if you were proceeding or had an issue with my CC and closed the service request .
Look forward to getting into the new box .
Matrix 07-02-2001, 04:39 AM MrGoodHost,
How's the new server coming along?
MrGoodHost 07-02-2001, 01:31 PM Actually its coming along great ......since I cancelled my account with Burst and signed up with VO !
VO support has been excellent and fast , no issues with server setup at all , so far just a really good experience !
I would recommend these guys to anyone .
As for Burst , I really don't have anything against them , I just personally require faster support responses and better communication than they provide .
sbrad 07-02-2001, 03:45 PM I mean no disrespect to Burst...I'm sure they are a fine company. And I know this isn't their fault, because they have no choice but to respond to comments made to them on here.
However...do we have to have a new thread started on here every time Burst farts? Don't they have a telephone number? Why post questions about your order on here?

Sbrad,
It's very simply just don't read the posts. This is a forum to exchange ideas, make comments whether they are good or bad.
MrGoodHost,
Didn't realize that you switched to VO and glad to here that you like them.

Yeah, and that's EXACTLY what I was doing.
It's very simply just don't read the posts.
Cute. I guess that means you disagree with my assessment. If you don't like it, maybe you shouldn't read the posts.

You first stated:

You were exchanging ideas, making comments but the gist of your comment was don't post this type of question on here so that's why you got my response....Do you comprehend what I mean?

I read the posts but don't go around telling people not to post certain questions and just use the phone unlike you so that is a big difference.

I didn't say not to post certain questions on here. I just posed a question, and that was asking if it was appropriate to start a new thread directed AT Burst everytime you have a question about their service. There is a difference between:
"Burst screwed me"
and
"Dear Burst: I'm wondering how long it will take to setup my server"
Again, just observations. Try not to take it so personally.
