I used servercentral.net They have a special, $15 a year.
Just got an email from them, saying if they switch the info, I might get charged $35 a year by network solutions.
Well He!!,. I could have just registered with them to begin with since I have 3 others there!!!!

I just signed up for a .com address at one of those places that offer $20 a year registration and when I did a whois on it, I found that the administrative, billing and technical is registered to them. Only the registrant address is mine.
Did I just get robbed for saving $15??

Although I would change the admin contact to you, if you are listed as the owner you should be ok. I am not sure how they accept changes (usually the person listed as the admin contact is the one who makes these changes as I think you know).

Chicken is right, get the admin changed to you. If it's them, then it gives them the sole power to accept/decline transfers.

Hey Now Brwon Cow,
There are many registrars since InterNIC opened competition. Some make it much easier to change things than your present one, and are cheaper to boot. For instance, 000domains.com, the one I use, charges $13.50. More importantly, you can make changes quite easily, even changing the registrant (at no charge, unlike NSI).
You open an account and can administer a bunch of domains from it. When you register a new domain, it starts by parking it on their servers and listing them as technical contacts. You can enter the contacts when you register, and change them at any time.
When you are ready to move your domain to an active server, it couldn't be easier. You go in to the Manage Your Account section, enter the hsoting company domain name, and it looks up and fills in the name servers and IP addresses. You have the option to overwrite the selections (like for companies with multiple name servers), but they make it easy for you.
I know for a fact that you can even change the registrant, not just correct spelling, but change it completely, and it won't cost you anything (again, unlike NSI. There are others that offer similar services. You might do better than your present registrar.
