Hello,

I have a plesk based server at catalog.com. Since the last few days i have seen that consistently the outbound traffic is exceeding the inbbound traffic. generally it is reverse.

When you see this the first thing that strikes is check for spamming being done.
i see tail -f /var/log/maillog - Nothing unusual. 1-2 mails send every 10 seconds.

qmail-qmstat - It shows 7 messages in queue. hmm now what

I checked /var/log/xferlog to see if any ftp upload has been done but there are just a few html files here and there in the past few hours.

What next steps do i take, The outbound traffic normally i have is 20-30 mb in an hour which is 110 Mb per hour, Inbound being 70-80 mb.

The load average is also quite normal that is in 0.3-0.4 range.

Plese help what next steps to be taken , contacted datacentre support but they are not that good these days in replying to mails, i have nothing from them for 2 days now.

Please help me
Regards,

Have you tried to call them? I am not sure if you are local but I have some servers there and they answer the phone everytime I call. they always answer my emails everytime.

did you try this form?

Oh yes i did,
I have also emailed to them so many times in the past 3 days, they have replied today and it seems they are as clueless as myself over here.

I have been with them for almost 2 years now and find that their support is not as fast and swift as it used to be.

Anyone has any ideas what do i check,
