If you are an Alabanza client, be on the lookout for them contacting your resellers as soon as the reseller reaches 40 to 50 clients!!!
As though 40 or 50 clients will be enough to pay for their servers. lol!

what what?
They watch your account and as soon as one of your resellers get big enough, they go after them...
I would like to add that I am not 100% sure of this. Just be on the lookout, okay? If no one else has had this problem, I could be wrong. It just p****d me off when I heard that they got another one. They should brake off all contact with the reseller as soon as they find out that they belong to one of their clients. Or is that asking too much?

That would be a very bad business practice. Is anyone here from Alabanza?

Oh they do it.
That's how they got me. What they didn't say at the time was that in a couple of months we would be charging for each control panel and name servers and what all else.
Needless to say, I had to sell my clients to another company and get out. It wasn't worth it.
All I'm saying is be on the lookout...
I bring this up now because I know that they are still doing it.
There is a way to make it more difficult for them to contact your clients. If you've read the Knowledge Base enough, you will know how... ;)
Please note that I could be wrong and Alabanza found me some other way. I don't think so. For one reason, when I contacted the company that I was reselling for, they did not seem too shocked about it. It was like, they got another one, what can we do about it? I know, we will compete with them. :D

Given the way Alabanza continually shoot themselves in the foot - and the fact that they are about 2.5 times more expensive than anyone else - I doubt most people would be interested these days.

Who would you recommend me to go to since I'm an Alabanza client with around 550 sites? I'm looking around for what else is available.
I'm keeping a close on on Jumpline's announcement section but probably won't be moving for at least 6 months to see how Jumpline handles the new workload of Alabanza customers jumping on board.

Are you Alabanza's reseller ? or just client?
Or do you have a dedicated with alabanza?

I'm a dedicated server customer with Alabanza who is on the prowl for something similiar to the software currently provided which includes automation. I could never imagine doing billing manually ever again let alone anything else. I'm not interested in a barebone dedicated server. I'm nore interested in what server is loaded on it.

Why don't you take a look at site5.com?
I think that they offer Billadmin with their dedicated server.

I looked at site5.com before but it just didn't cut it. I'd have to get the highest server there which is $1400 and I'd have order a second server straight away to put more accounts onto. So it would cost more than $1695 that I'm paying with Alabanza.
Who else has moved from Alabanza to site5.com or away for Alabanza to another network and what been your experience?

We have been moving our clients off of Alabanza for awhile now. We moved them over to Dialtone Internet. Dialtones connection is not as fast, but hardly noticable, but the servers are almost never down and much more dependable. There prices are also very cheap, but this is because you do not get the Control Panel and Billing features Alabanza has. We created our own Control Panel, Billing System, DSM and whatnot, so the features evened out. Our system is not as automated, but give us a year to get her touched up :)
Moving the sites has been pretty hectic. We are giving our cleints the option to move themselves, as that way they can use the new services we have added as well immediately. If you give them the option to move themselves, you can get a pretty good response. We have had about 20% of our clients who were on Alabanza servers that wanted to move themselves. Many want to do it themselves anyways, since they want to make sure it is done correctly. Downtime has not been a problem either as each client that is moved experiences up to a total of around 5 minutes of downtime during the process.
Just dont do what we did ;) We decided to move our clients when we reached 1200. We started to finally move our clients when we were approaching 2500. Makes the job a bit longer. :)
Thank you for your time

I've been thinking about all this for the last two or three months, moving servers that is. The problem here is that I do fulltime university. At the moment, I just have enough time to answer emails and phone calls regarding sales and support and do some kind of development for our web sites. I do try and keep on top of things, ie. there's only 5 emails (problems) in my inbox.
I think I will wait until I finish uni in 6 months (after four years) and go from there. I'll probably have about 800 or so sites by that time but anyway. It's the automation I can't live without with at the moment.
