You could always write about the melon heads in Kirtland, Ohio. http://www.deadohio.com/MelonHeads.htm
You could use that for the basis of a story if you wanted to make that up.

Myself and a couple of friends once went melon head hunting. Still not sure what happened to the one guy... ;)
