I accidently posted this the other day in the Programming Forum I let it ride but I did't get any responces. Sorry for posting this for the 2x time...

I have been asked to look into a solution for a 'start' page for customers. Currently we have made a custom set of scripts that interact and get all the information for us.

I found tons of portal software that is great but I dont' think I know how to apply it to our use since it does not seem to have all the modules I would need. My brain hurts from looking at all these pages

Anyone know of anything good???

Try Php-Nuke. I have been able to customize it to fit my needs before. All you have to do is be able to pull news feeds from sites like Moreover to get the news and then can get the weather via Weather.com and stocks via yahoo and just pull them all together into PHP-Nuke. Its possible, as I have worked with PHP-Nuke a lot before.

Check it out: http://php-nuke.com

www.crossnuke.com is quite nice. It allows you to use phpnuke & postnuke modules. Another nice one is www.nukeware.net/ which comes with a ton of modules preinstalled, it's based on phpnuke.

I looked into PHP Nuke and the others and was for a while really interested. The only thing I wished is that someone could customize the page like many of the start pages. I don't want to post news or anything on the site so I would want to replace the middle colume. will that be possible?

Lets say they can move things around I was wondering if anyone has a example of a page doing something simular to get a idea how it would work? Also where would I find the modules to make things work like headlines and weather...stuff like that. I looked around on the sites you guys gave and did't see it on the site, I assume they have site around with modules?

Is is easy to build custom modules? I would love to intergrate a few things from our site that might need to be custom build.

Thanks for all the resources it was big help!
