A 10-year-old boy was charged with murder Thursday for allegedly luring a 3-year-old boy out of a library, beating him with a baseball bat, sexually assaulting him and dumping him in a ditch.

The 10-year-old, who was not identified by authorities, was charged with murder, felony murder, kidnapping, illegal weapons possession and aggravated sexual assault. It's even more sad to charge a 10 year old child instead of parents or whoever suppose to raise a kid.

and was being held in a youth detention center He should be held in hospital and not in detention center...

What a world we live in...

edited to add: When we'll start charging babies???

Excellent article. It says all. Indeed "we're as bigoted and incurious a culture as we ever were", even worse, we blame and execute the children...

That is disturbing. His parents should be tried. They must have done something wrong in raising the kid unless he is mentally retarded or something. Indeed he should be in a mental hospital.

You cannot always blame the parents, yes many kids / adults that commit serious crimes had an horrendous childhood themselves, however some seemingly had idyllic childhoods, with siblings who turned out fine, yet they still commited awful crimes.
