Hey. I decided to post here instead of the other folder because user recommendations are more valuable than offers IMO..The site for the most part is just an InvisionBoard forum w/ a phpMyChat chatroom. From what I can see now I'm using around 120 MB of space, and transfer is around 6 GB this month..I have no idea how accurate that transfer info is, so I'd like to go higher and have some headroom if possible. Maybe closer to 15 - 20 GB a month. As far as I know the main problem with my current host isn't storage or bandwidth, but MySQL queries. According to them I've had around 280,000 MySQL queries this month alone. Other than that the forum gets steady traffic and usually peaks around 30 users on at a time during the night. Around 1200 members and 50,000+ posts currently..I've seen other forums out there with much more members and traffic so hopefully there is some good options out there. I also would like a phpMyChat running as well. So main requirements I would like would be:

250MB + storage
At least 15 - 20 GB bandwidth
Cpanel would be nice
PHP & MySQL obviously

So far here is some sites I've been looking into that caught my eye:

24hostingnow.com
matrix-studio.com
hostany.com
rochen.com

Budget would be around $20 a month + or -

Some things I've found is 24hostingnow.com TOS states this as non-permitted:

"Sites using more than 15% of system resources."

Not sure what 15% comes out to and without other numbers is a useless figure, but it sounds low to me..

I visit one site the uses hostany.com and while it seems stable, their e-mail has been acting up lately. I get hardly any e-mail from this site so it's not a HUGE deal.

Thanks for any suggestions and recommendations! A dedicated server has also been suggested but I really don't think those numbers warrant one.

By the way if Ronnie from AWH sees this, feel free to throw in any other info on usage etc that I might have missed :D

Not really. Remember that you will be in a shared hosting environment. That means that you will be sharing system resources with other websites on the server that you are located on. 15% of resources is actually quite high considering that some hosts put hundreds of sites on their servers. And really, using 15% of a systems resources is pretty hard to do unless you have some scripts running that are real resource hogs.

You certainly don't need a dedicated box with your numbers yet, but you may need one eventually. Just make sure that you're not getting on an overcrowded box, but I don't think you're taking up 15% at this time.

Sounds like you have all the good facts in there. Even though you expressed that you did not want to do so, I would still suggest you post in the web hosting requests though, and just spend time sifting through results... Ignore any 'cut and paste' offers, and focus on the ones that have spent time to customize a reply (and offer) to you.
