price-wise, they're almost the same, with dedicatednow charging more for setup, but less in monthly fees for their p4's. in terms of reliability, availability, and support, which is better? id probably be getting servers from both providers; just wanted to know which id make the primary and which one a backup.

Depends if you want Plesk or Cpanel. Rackshack do Plesk (and Ensim) and DedNow do Cpanel. Both are excelent low cost providers.

There are a lot of other hosts out there, why dedicated now or rackshack? Just curious

Personally, I'd choose dedicatednow over rackshack as I prefer CPanel, but other than that they are both great companies.

I would go with DedNOW as they have great Support & Network.
But RackShack is also great, If you want CPanel go with DedNOW, if you want Plesk or Ensim go with RackShack.
They are both great companies with great network :)

I wonder if all these DedNOW vs. RackShack threads are being created my Burst customers...
I would start one... but I already know where I'm going...if things don't improve.

I think you are right, I'm almost sure all of those threads are by Nocster Customers...
We had with them server, in the first day we had problems with the network, we went out of there right to DedNOW :D

The difference between this problem and my previous problems with atwebhost. Burst seems to care about the problems and they are most likely not responding to calls/ims/emails/posts due to the overwhelming problems that are occuring, which they don't even know the cause.

rackshack has a better network management than DN, I think :)
