View Full Version : Alabanza Name Server does not exist?

I am a reseller for a alabanza host. I logged in to my control panel and choose to set up my name server.

However, even after my control panel report that the name servers are setted up, my registrant would not accept it (err: update unsuccessful), and when I go to NSI's whois, type in "host ns.xxx.com", it says there is no match.

On the other hand, if I type in the ip address for my name servers, a test page does load.

Can someone help me?

Thanks,

Peter

It depends on how long you waited to try and set them up at your registrar. Some registrars require that reverse lookups be available for the nameservers you are attempting to create with them. If enough time has not passed between the time you created them and the time you tried to register them, your registrar may not be able to verify that they do exist. Generally, waiting for the next round of updates is enough to fix this issue.

I have waited about 24 hours, do I have to wait the 72 hours name server time length?

Thanks,

Peter

It sometimes takes a couple of registrars a bit longer. However, you might try doing a reverse lookup on the IPs for your nameservers to see what value is returned. Also, check in your registrar's support docs (if available) to see what requirements they have (if any) about nameservers. A final step? Go register your nameservers at NetSol, in the event that your registrar is pulling from them. The form to create a new host entry is here:
