View Full Version : Need some testing

We have the forums up at hostcoalition.org and have done some testing of our own. Now it's time to have some testing done by other folks.

Currently, the board is empty, as we've removed all the test mesages we posted. There is a forum called testing, but we'd actually like testing in all of the forums.

Right now, due to the nature of the board, we have it set so that an email confirmation is generated after registration. This also notifies one of the admins so they can move the new person to the registered users list and get an email to them letting them know they are able to post. Registered users can see only the general category, which is a publicly viewable area. We have also created another group called Hosts, which will allow access to the host-only areas. Being put into the Hosts group requires a followup email from the person who has registered so that the admins can verify that the person is indeed a host and can move the person to the proper user group.

If you'd like to check it out (reminder: the main page is still under construction) and lend a hand in the testing, please visit http://www.hostcoalition.org.

Thanks.

Hi Annette. I would be happy to help out by designing a template for you to use, if you'd like. All I would ask is maybe a text "designed by" link at the bottom :)

I think hostcoalition will be a VERY useful resource!

G'Day Annette,

Nice to see another site running vBulletin :). I have that setup on my site. If you have any problems with it, let me know - I know how it works fairly well.

Thanks, Brian, we'll keep that in mind. I think Stephanie will be in charge of most of the templates/design/graphics stuff, since she is the resident graphics monkey here.

PING Duster: you didn't provide a good email address (naughty, naughty), but I added you to the host group anyhow.

Let me know if anything breaks/doesn't work, etc.

Joseph,

Not surprisingly you can find VBulletin @ http://www.vbulletin.com

Its pricing system is very similar to UBB - either a yearly licence fee (around $80-90/year) or a life-time licence fee (around $160).

OK, everybdy who has registered so far should be able to get in and post now (sorry for the delay). Let me know if you can't.

BC is correct. We chose the owned license, which is $160, and the yearly license at this time is $85. The also have a freeware version (as does UBB), with limited functionality.
