Best Regards, cbaker17 06-11-2001, 01:28 PM It has awesome charting abilities it even generates 3d maps and graphs, its a little hard to setup if your not familiar with linux, but is a solid program, with quite a bit of addon modules for it. teck 06-11-2001, 01:35 PM yeah, it was a real pain for me to setup on a linux box. i looked towards a program for windows myself. i think WhatsUp Gold does that so you might want to look into it. Hostking 06-11-2001, 01:35 PM Thanks Charles, Any specific issues during setup or use that you have run into that you could help us avoid? I have 2 guys working on setting it up currently on our monitoring server. Best Regards, qps 06-11-2001, 02:41 PM I currently utilize Netsaint, and I've been really happy with it. Although, I still can't seem to figure out how to modify it so it doesn't send me a warning e-mail about a 50ms ping from Columbus to Greenville... Any ideas? allera 06-11-2001, 06:20 PM I've been using it for a while too, on a FreeBSD machine. I as well can't figure out how to lower the ping rate limit on "Critical" ... apparently a ping of 150ms is Critical. I would think a ping of 500 would be closer to critical than 150. :) Other than that, it's simple to set up and run, and it's quite fast. We use the notify functions on it, so when any server is having ANY problem, Netsaint pages and emails us immediately. Very good program indeed. cbaker17 06-11-2001, 06:27 PM Whatsup gold is good, but their graphing and charts look like crud, it looks terrible, but it monitors fine and it affordable and thats all that really matters.... |
