I'm looking to start a hosting company by reselling, but I was curious on how much money someone can make. What percentage of resellers make over $1000 a month profit?

Well,I am by no means no expert,but in the first you months,hardly any.I mean 1000$ profit is about 100 accounts sold a month depending on your price...plus you need to pay for your reseller fees,so I doubt that in the first few months many reselers make that type of money.But after a while they could,I am just starting to look into reselling so I am in no way an expert.

There are so many resellers out there, that it's hard to categorize them all in one statement. The reality is that there are many resellers who don't make much at all. However there are some that probably do even better than regular hosting companies who have their own servers.

The key is marketing. You have to have a solid marketing strategy that incorporates everything from advertising campaigns (large or small) to price levels to the design of your website.

I would say the percentage of resellers making $1,000.00 per month profit is probably less than 30% if you only consider small "Mom & Pop" reseller companies (i.e. one guy and his computer), and perhaps much less than that. But I don't think it's this low because the potential is not there. Most people do not succeed because of the lack of marketing skills.

E.g.. what type of ticket system and what kind of customer management software are you using?

Also please share any wisdom about setting up proper business (Tax etc. - England/EU)
