Dogma 06-10-2001, 11:18 PM They have had downtime because of their Sprint backbone as far as I know..... darcast 06-11-2001, 02:00 AM Because of the repeated long downtimes, I cancelled my service with Burstnet. They were moving to a new facility is what I was told. But traceroute showed my site's isp AT the new faciity. Anyway, I cancelled using their "form", and by email. I got no response from anyone until time for another billing cycle, when I received a bill of course. So, one more time, I cancelled by email and using their generalized form submission page. I did seem to accept it with the response, "Thank you for filling out this form". This particular page is used for everyting from ordering new hosting, to adding services, as well as cancelations. I still haven't seen any money, or acknowledgement that there will be any money. BurstNET 06-11-2001, 02:13 AM >> Because of the repeated long downtimes, I cancelled my service with Burstnet. It was for such reasons that we left our last facility, and built our own. Our new data center has had near perfect uptime. The only minor downtime we have had would not have occured had we had a seconf DS3 in place at the time...which we will have in about 3 weeks from now to prevent such things in the future. >> I still haven't seen any money, or acknowledgement that there will be any money. I can only assume that you are referring to a refund from the mis-billing after you canceled? If such is the case, just email our billing dept at billing@burst.net and they will assist you with this. We can verify whether an actual form was filled out and the exact date, for we keep double records of all forms submitted for processing in our system. If we can verify that you did indeed fill out a form on the original date, we will refund for such. Sean R. BurstNET darcast 06-11-2001, 02:31 AM ...you had responded this quickly and clearly when my site was down, I would still be there. I'll contact billing. I, too, have a printed copy of the original cancellation. Your script needs to redirect people to a page specific to what they were filling it out to accomplish. Have a good day. |
