Is it possible for a host to infect you with a virus? I suppose that a malignant host could do it, or, which amounts to the same thing, a host with low security that was hacked, and thus in turn hacked the user. I'm particularly interested in the possible dangers of FTP.

any sort of data transfer which results in storage of information can coz a virus to be transfered... its as simple as that.
