I was wondering if anyone knew of a good service provider for merchant accounts, but is no more than like $35 a month. I want to be able to manually enter my clients credit card numbers.
Thanks

They are very cheap in that there are no monthly fees or minimums. <<EDIT>> <<MOD NOTE:>> Please note that affiliate links are NOT allowed, nor asking members to email you. <</MOD NOTE>> akashik 06-10-2001, 08:35 AM Last time I checked it was a very bad idea of enter people's credit card details yourself through anything other than a full merchant account. It's probably not the best advice to give considering the question... .. we wouldn't want anyone to get jail time for fraud after all. Greg Moore Dogma 06-10-2001, 11:39 AM Yes it is, the customer has to enter in the number, expiration date, etc. at least as far as I know..... kumaran 06-10-2001, 01:41 PM Hi I think about using PayPal service to charge my customers for sale of webhosting account? Are they a good deal? Or should I go for some one else? Please advice. chaos 06-10-2001, 01:58 PM If you search this board for posts on PayPal you'll find a lot of people have had problems with them and they don't have the greatest rep. I use WorldPay.com, however they're not the cheapest solution for startup. Haakon 06-10-2001, 02:11 PM For starters (like me :) ) you should go with instabill, revecom or ibill. I can`t imagine anyone would do business with a company using paypal, it was a spam recommendation anyway. kumaran 06-10-2001, 02:19 PM Hmm Yea, I was in doubt as well, regarding how professional i would look to use PayPal, but they are so far the cheapest (?) I have checked out Worldpay Direct, and all the others like InstaBill, RevEcom, BillPoint, and Vrza etc. But still not sure who offers the best deal? I’m based in UK but expect customers from all around the world. Anyone with good insight about the different programs, willing to share their knowledge? :D akashik 06-10-2001, 02:26 PM Originally posted by wbhst I was wondering if anyone knew of a good service provider for merchant accounts, but is no more than like $35 a month. Thanks Of the one's I looked at or discussed with others sfcommerce ezmerchantaccounts planet payment seemed to be the best on offer for both price and quality as far as a fulle merchant account goes. Prices are around $25-35 after set up plus a %3-5 transaction fee plus 25-50c as well per transaction. Anything less than that and I'd probably look at it a little oddly. Greg Moore ecomiscool.com 06-10-2001, 03:11 PM Worldpay seems to be good if you are in the UK. They have a good control panel and their Future Pay option is good. However I can't say that for the service they gave to me. I have used Worldpay for the last few months. Their only problem is that they are like a huge Dinosaur. They take days to reply to mails. As an example, I was to receive my monthly remittance via wire to my bank in India. Something went wrong and remittance didn't come through, though they claimed they sent it. I have written to them 3 times already asking them for the wire code. But no reply as yet. Though I have already written to their UK and Singapore offices. Looks like I am to spend $$ to call the UK now. :bawling: kumaran 06-10-2001, 03:46 PM Hi, Ok. Cheers all. I will give Worldpay a closer look. Sangeetha, is sad you can't get in contact with them problems regarding your payment. Why not try call Singapore office? (Are Net2Phone any good?) Guess you just gotta chase them up. Kumaran Brian Farkas 06-10-2001, 04:06 PM Hi, You might wish to check out 1stamericancardservice.com... That's who we are using for CC processing, through the authorize.net gateway. Of course there is going to be an initial setup charge wherever you go (for the software fee), but after that, you really only have to pay the statement fee and gateway fee... I think we're paying $9 statement and $10.00 gateway, with 2.25% discount rate, 20 cents/transaction. From looking around, that seems like one of the best deals for a "real" merchant account. wbhst 06-10-2001, 05:01 PM I am not talking about a service like ibill or paypal... I want on my order form just a place that says credit card number... There,. the client will put in their credit card number... I will go to my gateway, and enter it. I think that is much more professional then paypal. wbhst peachtreewebworks 06-10-2001, 05:26 PM The only service I know of that lets you do that is ProPay (http://www.propay.com) . There are no set-up fees and the only cost is 3.5 % of the sale amount + .35 . There are many on this board who say that entering someone else's credit card information is illegal (without a full merchant account), but if that's the case, how can ProPay get away with it? Just another option... Michael wbhst 06-11-2001, 12:48 AM hey thanks! That is just what I wanted.. Propay will be perfect! wbhst wbhst 06-11-2001, 12:49 AM How's propay's customer support? wbhst Get-Hosted.com 06-11-2001, 01:31 AM Hmmm propay says this is how it works: They order through your website, you request payment to their email address, they get email with a link to pay you, they give CC info, you login to your account, put THEIR CC info in and that completes the transaction. You entering anyone else's CC info is illegal. Without a full merchant account. drhonk 06-11-2001, 03:16 AM How about echo-inc.com ? .. they're prices seems to be reasonable ... anyone knows about them ? Get-Hosted.com 06-11-2001, 03:43 AM Good service, BUT you are Not allowed to charge anyone in more then monthly increments. If you charge someone for a longer period of time, you breech your TOS with them. Otherwise they are pretty good, getting money out of the bank is kinda a pain though, you have to write yourself a check and wait for it to clear to get it. You also must have your own software to process credit cards, they provide none. wmac 06-11-2001, 11:14 AM Hello I am using clickbank for my credit card billings. They have a good support but they have a limit on amount of money. They incresae it soon if you can prove you are doing your business good. What is opinion of people here about Clickbank? Regards, mac teck 06-11-2001, 01:41 PM if you are going to bill on a month to month basis, sign up with echo ( www.echo-inc.com ) - their prices are very cheap and for a monthly fee, you can get statistics and a shopping cart. i know someone there so if you want a contact, let me know. |
