Hi Kaz

There is no billing software that comes with Cpanel itself, but you may want to check out our software which was released about a month ago at

<<MOD EDIT: Oops you can't say that! Please PM directly>>

I had heard that WHN billing is available on a lease to own contract. what i mean is that I pay a certain amount (small) for a certain number of months & after certain months i can continue to use it without paying anyting more. I hope you understand what i mean. Is that still available ?

Another Question : Can I purchase A Single Copy & Put It On Multiple Servers ?

Hi Kool

We removed the monthly option since it was a limited time offer.

<<EDIT>>

As for the software, if you buy one copy, you can only put one copy on a server per the license agreement, If you want multiple license's you can contact us for further discounts. If its found are in fact are running the software on mutil-servers, steps to alleviate the problem will be taken.

As any company, we take our software very seriously. If anyone is pirating the software, we will take full actions against that person or company. We have security precautions in place that only allow for one copy to be on one server.

Hope these answer your questions

Thank For Your Answers.
I Dont Think I will be buying it Now. I will probably buy it sometime later maybe after 2-3 months because as yet I am using revecom which WHNbilling does not happen to support & will be getting my own merchant status shortly. Maybe I will give it a try then.

Just Another Question:-
Is there any way you could support Revecom ?
I acn give you every details about if you need.

Offtopic : Just Saw http://www.peltolas.com/plane.htm looks great. Just wordering How Much did it cost ?

:( We cant support Revecom, the problem with these (and it as been discussed quite a few times) is our software as with others is based on a merchant gateway, like Cybercash and Authorize.NET

Revecom and Worldpay force you to go though a user browser and enter the user data, this goes against the main features of WHNBilling, which is full automation. Even if we did add Revecom to our list, all auto billing functionality would be lost.

As for the plane, thanks :) I just went out and did some touch and go's and flew over to Eagle River (outside anchorage)

I will be going to Palmer maybe tomorrow or the next. It set me back $25k which its fully paid for :) I will be putting in a 150 hp engine (like a super cub) and also some floats....once that's done, I can haul me..full gas and about a half a small moose (400 lbs). That will set me back a good $20k for a decent engine and set of floats

I also own a Cessna 185 which is quite larger then my 150, in comparison, the 150 has 2 chairs / 185 has 6 / 150 can only carry about 100 lbs baggage / 185 about 800 lbs. The 185 set me back about $130k, its got floats...skis and wheels. We only use the 185 for moose hunting in the fall time.

Who still says that hosting doesn't pay should have a look at Gary's plane ;-)

Writing software will help paying it offcourse...

Anyways, I believe Nocsoft (from the makers of cpanel) will come out in august and will contain billing so I say wait for that and see how it will look (no offence Gary!).

hehe...they are both paid off ;-) web hosting does pay as long as you know how to play your cards just right :)

As for nocsoft, i am really waiting to see what these guys got in the oven. They can always say its a billing program even it very very basic...guess we will all have to wait and see...

ubersmith by voxel.net is great, we are using it here in house. Cpanel support will be out for it shortly I believe. The support has been more than great, they have been superb. I can't say enought thanx to raj to helping us get a lower fee on our merchant account, and for setting us up quickly and helping us get going.

Thanx raj..

:D

Why isn't ubersmith on their website yet? I've been dieing to try it out and all I see is CBMS :(

BTW, why did you need them to help you get a lower fee on your merchant account?? Who did you go with?

IFS, I need a CC processor that won't make me jump threw hoops to get the limit I need for my monthly credit cards. And my current CC processor ins't giving me any trouble but they are .65 percente higher than what Raj helped me get, so I am happy, I save some money, enough to pay for ubersmith. :)

Yes Gary... after all, what do we (especially myself) know about writing billing systems?

Go figure...

Matt, just as my post implys, anyone can say they have a billing program...even the most basic software can be construed as a billing software.

All i said is i really want to see the types of features this software has and how flexable it really is.

"After all...what do we (especially myself) know about writing billing systems?"
Dont be mad just because your part of the "Cpanel team" and theres some new kids on the block with billing systems...and BillAdmin isnt the only kid on the block anymore..

Absolutely. I assume that the term anyone is all-inclusive in this case? ;)

We would never release something that wasn't absolutely spectacular. The fact that we will be building the billing system into the program itself will greatly increase the seamlessness that the system offers. Ideally, there won't even be separate interfaces for "account management" vs. "billing management" - something that has yet to appear in any 3rd party billing system to date.

Who'se mad? I have no reason to be upset, as BillAdmin is not even competing with you for the market.

I was simply implying that when it comes to billing, we know what we're doing. BillAdmin was actually written before I was a member of the Cpanel development team. As you may have noticed, Site5 is no longer selling BillAdmin to the general public due to the fact that an "external" billing system will become obsolete and unnecessary with the launch of NocSoft, which will have a billing system fully integrated.

I apologize if that post seemed a bit precocious - I meant no disrespect.

Thanks for clarifying your position. Your post certainly came along the lines of "our software is better then any out there"

thanks for the kind words. much appreciated! :)

teck:
ubersmith 1.0-rc was released on friday of last week. we've got about a dozen early adopters (representing about 5,000 hosting accounts) pounding on the system. everything is looking great and ubersmith 1.0-golden comes out late this week. at this time, it will become very visible (up to now we've been deliberately keeping a low profile).

with regard to your question about the merchant account, we have some connections with some of the largest merchant houses (including IFS -- who is local). Through a partnership with them, we are able to offer hosts better rates than what they'd be able to find by going through traditional channels.

Raj,

Gotcha! Be sure to post an announcement when golden comes out! I'm in need of the software. All I just now is paper and pen :( Anyway, too bad I didn't know you can offer connections to merchant accounts sooner :( Is any of that info on the web?
